Sapphires?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but where do I get them from?. Wiki says amber island and there are no sapphires from the said crystals. Have also gone to Collapsed Wasteland (as wiki says to ) and there are no deposits of the crystal to mine there.
Am I missing something? LOL help!

Can be quite rare, but if you head into the cave you most likley find more on the island.

Are you sure about the Collapsed Wasteland? I believe the deposits are to the left of the chemical plant building and near the minable rocks near the lake.

Best way to get them is still planting a bunch of Crystella trees and using fertilizer on them regularly - drops from quarrying are very random.

Yes, at this point, as @worstcase11 mentioned, purchase the crystella trees, about 10+ ~~ they will drop sapphires ~~ especially if they are fertilized regularly & very happy. I always recommend to beginners ~~ to keep every single sapphire & start planting your dozen crystella trees. Also, be sure to set your skill set to Farming Guru ~~ this can increase the amount harvested. If it's not set, Phyllis via acupuncture will reset all your skill sets to zero and you can carefully reselect what is important to you at this point in the game.

homegrown crystal trees, and (very rare) the crystal rock nodes will drop them.

I think you might have a chance to get a few saphires when you finish a level at 'super' in the deepest dungeon.

I also got quite a few as a drop when finishing the main story line (before final showdown). Quite frankly I only planted one tree at the beginning of Summer year 1 using the the automatic fertilizing system from the church. The first harvest always goes missing on trees (for me) when using it but after that as long as the fertilizer flows I get lots of crystals and 1 or more sapphire just about every week.

I'm not sure why I get a few each time; Ack harvests them for Emma. He takes care of all the plants, trees & cooking ~~ so, wonderful. Emma is extremely social ~~ however, well balance with work & her other duties as well ~~ not sure if this is the reason either; Or, it's just the magic of Portia. @hmgrammy ~~ we are the lucky ones to have you here on the discussion boards with us!

You can sometimes get rubies, when quarrying the big rocks lying around outside in the Collapsed Wasteland.

@babushka thank you for the pep talk. Since I don't really plan on using the rubies, it has never mattered. But as far as the crystal trees, if your minimalist like me one planted early on got me enough that I easily completed that last horrible build in the main story before mid Spring Year 2. Truth be told, I had everything in large quantity except the Titanium and a day of no relic hunting just looking for Titanium in the Somber Marsh Abandoned Ruins fixed that.

Gotcha! I'm pretty sure I bought titanium from Dana, unless I'm dreaming. I am a dreamer & end up looking off into the distance (on our farm) & dream of Pathea announcing Portia 2 is available!

@worstcase11 yes! rock salt etc. I've found my Emma got the most there ~~ again ~~ I can't help & wonder if it was all he connections she's made; Were Sarah was the workaholic/ warrior ~~ rarely found much in the rocks located in the Wasteland.
