Purpose of recordings? Does the television work?

I've collected quite a few recordings (which look like VHSs (which are like old school DVDs for you youngsters)) and I'm not sure what to do with them. Is there anything that can be done with them, other than selling them? I bought the television from the mysterious man store, thinking maybe I could watch them, but the television also doesn't seem to do much. I can't place it in my home, so it just sits in a chest right now. Same with the deluxe fishing kit I bought from him, which I thought would give me a cooler fishing rod.

The tv does work; I have a box nearby, with the tapes nearby. Any extra tapes of the same ~~ I sell. They sell very well. I did he same with the deluxe fishing kit ~~ I sold it when the market was very high. Stinker Mysterious Man.

Yes, it does work, You need to buy the television stand at A&G so you can use the television. Honestly I sell them because there is not really a use for them other then see it one time and that set. Nothing really important. In my opinion. Beside that they can be sell for a good money specially if the market is more than 100%.

yea @Eterna Emma's thinking about selling some stuff; She's constantly redecorating the rooms. Sarah, my first character, lived simply. You're also correct about the market ~~ it truly is about watching the market to buy & sell ~~ it's just a wise thing to do. Sometimes, no matter the market, if I really need something & the market is high. I have no choice; However, my Emma, makes a weird face at the store owners. lol

Eterna- my sarcasm was directed more at myself and the silliness that the TV won't work without the stand. Not at all toward you! I didn't even know there WAS a TV stand! it works now thanks to your suggestion. I appreciate the community that helps out with these questions!
