Tips for City Transporter (5 Dee-Dees) achievement - no Higgins!

[This is assuming you built the 5 Dee-Dees ahead of time, or at least have all the materials ready and can build/turn them in right away.]

First of all, try to do the Amber Cave battery quest on a Friday, so the Dee-Dee one is given on the weekend while Higgins stays home. You'll have zero competition then.

You MIGHT be able to complete it on a Thursday if you do the caves after 19:00 (or maybe if you just turn in the caves quest to Gale after 19:00). That way Gale ends up calling the transportation fireside meeting on Friday at 19:00 instead, which means the Dee-Dee quest will be triggered on Saturday morning.

But don't worry! If you miss the weekend window and/or don't want to fuss about timing, there's an easy solution: procrastinate. :)

The day after you clear the caves you NEED to wait in your house until past 8:20 or so. The Commissions are not 'put up' until you walk out the door and trigger the cutscene with Presley, so by waiting you force Higgins' regular schedule. He'll take a normal commission and be on his way, and all 5 Dee-Dee ones will be up when you get there.

(If the cutscene somehow doesn't trigger the morning after you clear the caves, you probably completed the cave quest after the 19:00 cutoff. Just wait past 8:20 the following morning instead.)

Hm... when I got the Dee-Dee commissions triggered for me, I had all five of them in my backpack. It was a week day, so Higgings was there like normal. But I could take all five of them, finishing one right after the other. Higgings took a normal commission and left befor I had taken the fifth Dee-Dee ...

@tanguna: You probably got lucky with whatever random one he actually picked for that day. I noticed he doesn't always seem to pick the "best" one on normal days, so there's probably a randomness factor in there. But from what I personally saw with multiple reloads, the waiting thing appeared to remove the competitive risk/rush entirely.
