personally i would much prefer a more accurate pistol. maybe half the spread amount would be good start.
one of the shortcomings of HL2 was that the pistol was only really a starting weapon. it was so pathetic, that it was only ever your last resort, never something you chose to use (it even sounded like plastic). whenever i replay hl2, i usually buff it's damage a tad and make it do more headshot damage vs torso damage (along with the emp7 and stuff) so that it's more satisfying to use by choice.
the way they did the mp7 with heavy recoil/spread single handed but improved from vanilla when 2-handed in hl2vr is excellent.
thats actually terrible design, and artificially difficult at best
Personally I'd tone it down considerably, I wasn't a big fan of so much recoil either but once you find other weapons the pistol is rarely used so it wasn't much of a problem.
I think the pistol needs a two handed grip mode but i really don't agree with this (respectfully) because in VR we have to account for the angle of the gun in a way we don't in flat, where the gun is always level when you're aiming. It would always be harder in VR just because of that extra dimension to aiming. It does feel a little unfair to have that recoil when we cant steady the gun better though
Or Freeman should be recoilless because of the power assist of the HEV suit.
Pulse rifle runs out of ammo after 3 reloads.
The crossbow does not have a laser sight, so it doesn't hit.
I think the pistol is the main weapon in HL2, even at the end of the game.
