You can! Depends on the mode you choose in settings. Manual reload in done through clicking to drop the mag, grabbing near your shoulder for the mag, and inserting the mag! There's an extra step in cocking the gun too after you reload if you shoot through the entire clip/mag!

I'd recommend reloading pistol before it's empty to avoid the fiddly gun slide. You can grip over the old dropped mag to reacquire the bullets.

it's a flat game originally, so my advice is try to anticipate enemy crowds and reload everything in-between the gun fights, so you can switch around weapons and expend them most during the gunfights. you can also try the alternate reload setting, personally i prefer manual reload, its just tough to do when your sweating bullets

Yes you can. If you choose manual reload, it works just like in Half-Life Alyx. Eject the mag, reach over your shoulder to get a new mag, insert and chamber it in.
