Crash at start
Game immediately crashes. I tried a list of things that included startup options which turned out to be nonsense. I eventually encountered a fix that said disabling Open XR would allow it to work. It worked. Then my Pimax software upgraded and it runs it's own OpenXR so I am back to the immediate crashes. Does anyone have a new fix for this issue? Should I uninstall the vulcan nvidia stuff?

Same thing - on Pimax Crystal Light using their new own OpenXR. Tried switching to SteamVR runtime in the steam settings, but it didn't help.

The game does not use OpenXR, so the active OpenXR runtime does not matter. You must have SteamVR running and working with your headset.

For crashes, first update/reinstall your graphics drivers. Disable any processor integrated graphics if applicable. Disable any ingame overlays you may have active, e.g. Rivatuner, Geforce Experience. If you've installed Reshade for Vulkan games, try uninstalling that.

Solution: turn off "Central priority rendering" under Fixed foveated rendering within Pimax software. Other settings didn't matter.

I got it to run by using PimaxXR Runtime control center. The devs told me not to use SteamVR client.

This didn't work for me sadly.

Are you editing global profile by chance? Or specifically for the game?
I'm asking because it seems like these profile-specific settings work only if you launch games from within the app, and not from Steam or anywhere else. Otherwise global profile is used.
