Why did this change Fast Zombies sounds?
I had noticed while playing that this mod changes some of the existing sounds. They're more than welcome as they're essentially in line with what HL2 has established sound wise (guns for example have received punchier sounds while retaining the familiar sound from the original and/or new sounds for interacting with them).

Then I got to Ravenholm. Got to where the Fast Zombies are first encountered. That's when their replacement sounds were heard and I became confused with this decision. Mind you, not all sounds were replaced, so it wasn't immediately obvious. The sounds honestly sounded like someone's personal sound preference (which in itself is fine) that got left in, they don't sound really anything like the originals. What's worse is that the set of "looping" sounds that are replaced... don't loop, which means they don't even play (unless you're around to hear them the moment the Fast Zombies spawn).

It's easy to "fix", it's as simple as deleting the "npc_sounds_fastzombie.txt" in hlvr's script folder and it'll just revert back to HL2's.

But even so, why? Why was this changed? Why is this change in a creature's sound design essentially forced onto everyone who downloads this mod? It's not an enhancement on an existing sound like what's been done with the weapons, it's a completely different direction.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, I'm seriously just baffled and taken aback when I heard these in action for the first time.

This, exactly this. I knew something was wrong when I heard them approaching completely silently the first time I encountered them the other day. What's even more is, this wasn't an issue when I played through the mod a year ago, this is a new thing added. Thanks for providing a way to revert it, but I would absolutely like to know why this was done in the first place. I know HL2 sounds can be goofy, but the new ones took me by total surprise. If you want to provide sound replacements that completely change the audio, surely you can provide an option in the audio options menu to toggle them?

I'm not a big fan of the replaced weapon sounds. Thanks for reminding me that the fast zombie's sounds were also changed!

Big thanks to CW3D for helping us out!

All the other sound effects sound fine to me, but that Fast-Zombie Gollum sound effect had to go.
