as you know our lovely pyro uses a flamethrower, and so does fire damage. the pyro will attack all enemies accept for fire resistant mobs same goes for your fireball tower.
you can tell they are fire resistant as they will have a small red fire orb around them and there body will have a fire aura around them.
as for vertical range, im not sure, i think that the range vertically will correspond to a certain extent to the horizontal range (i would assume the verical range will be approximate to the horizontal), so towers can shoot enemies at an angle below them and above them. but i do not believe they can attack enemies if they are directly below them.
hope this clears things up.
ps
your lightning towers will not attack lightning immune mobs.
this can be countered by stripping the immunity of the mobs away by using your magic blockade
Gonna go confirm that for myself tonight. Thanks for the advice.
Which explains how those goblins all got past my fire towers before AND why my pyro was being lazy.
This explained a lot. Thanks a whole huge bunch.
Now I'll need to stick a lightning tower or two around, just to make sure I'm not only using one element all the time. That's even worse than I had ever imagined, apparently.
