Pets and towers not firing?
*Is only just now getting seriously into this game online. I main an apprentice, level 27*
I'm having a conundrum here.

I just got the point where I can use my TF2 pets and I equipped the pyro, thinking "Great, not only is his attack power good enough to cover my hero's weak attack power (I've been focusing mostly on my towers), but he also makes my fireball towers stronger!" ..and then I tried him out and while he DOES do lots of damage, after a while he just stops shooting. And I'm there going "ohgodsohgods" trying to clear goblins away from the crystal and pyro's all "nope.avi" on me. Do pets have limited ammo per round? Or is there something else I need to do to make him help me attack?

Also, I've been having this weird issue with my towers (specifically the fireball). Sometimes an enemy is clearly in range, and the tower doesn't fire. Like, an archer will be picking at it, then I distract it, and he comes into range and the tower doesn't shoot it. Or I use rapidfire with high knockback to shove an enemy back into the tower's range....and it doesn't shoot.

Lastly, do towers also take vertical range into account? and if so, by how much? In the Forge level, I tend to stick my fire towers up on the little ledges beside staircases and I'm wondering if THATS why they're not firing, since the enemy is a little bit too low to shoot at.

Thanks for any advice, guys.

hi,
as you know our lovely pyro uses a flamethrower, and so does fire damage. the pyro will attack all enemies accept for fire resistant mobs same goes for your fireball tower.

you can tell they are fire resistant as they will have a small red fire orb around them and there body will have a fire aura around them.

as for vertical range, im not sure, i think that the range vertically will correspond to a certain extent to the horizontal range (i would assume the verical range will be approximate to the horizontal), so towers can shoot enemies at an angle below them and above them. but i do not believe they can attack enemies if they are directly below them.

hope this clears things up.

ps

your lightning towers will not attack lightning immune mobs.
this can be countered by stripping the immunity of the mobs away by using your magic blockade

*facepalm* Didn't consider that.

Gonna go confirm that for myself tonight. Thanks for the advice.
Yep that was it. My towers and pets don't attack stuff that they're resistant against.

Which explains how those goblins all got past my fire towers before AND why my pyro was being lazy.

This explained a lot. Thanks a whole huge bunch.

Now I'll need to stick a lightning tower or two around, just to make sure I'm not only using one element all the time. That's even worse than I had ever imagined, apparently.
glad i could help :)
