Modded weapons and horrible imbalance.
This game has been ruined by modded items, ridiculous power creep and crap balancing.
People joining in just to one shot the boss with their modded weapon. Towers that are invincible. I was having fun but the higher level I got and the further I progressed in difficulty the more apparant this horrible imablance became.

It's become flatout impossible to play multiplayer at the higher levels due to the number of people with weapons that do upwards of a million damage. I even title my rooms asking people to be reasonable, but fat luck that has been.

It's a shame. I was really, really loving this game. But it's getting silly. I had some guy come in bragging about how his weapon could do 14 million damage, and I was only on hard.

I feel like they are all kids too. I was playing treasure hunt, and 2 really young kids joined talking about modded weapons and one telling the other one how to do it, and the other one being oh so impressed with the numbers until the other gave him one, and I was on normal for christ sakes. It's like jangling some shiny keys in front of an idiot. Of course they are going to use it and ruin the fun for everyone else.

So far I only encountered 1 modder/hacker/whatever. He was a level 15 squire with 14m weapon damage. How are the players banned exactly? I thought it was somehow automatic because of the VAC? I guess we have to report each and everyone of them?
im gonna ve straight with you, i am a legit player, and with out event items, i cna still hit upwards of 1 billion damage witha monk buffing me, and i have seen peopel with 9 k health stat, on nightmare an ogre can attack one of those for 2-3 miutes before it shows signs of damage, the game becomes inane whn u get ultimate sets, good luck getting there, if you think an item is hacked a screenshot is always helpful.

Sure... 1 billion damage with monk boost
Sure... 9k hero health stat.
If you think that's "legit" then you are playing on open with custom map gear.
And lets get even more real.
Ult set... that are worth using over myth/trans... Sure, if you have over 2k hours in and traded a lot, then you might be in the less than 0.2% who might legitimately have that.

Lets talk some real examples, i have 1500+ hours logged and farmed a lot of NM.
Ranked, completely "straight and narrow" and without cat/monk or any other boosts.
* My barb(100), with a 'ultimate+' gladius and a 'ultimate' gladius, can HAWK for 33+14 M, but the regular dps is about 18M dps on the tavern dummy.
* My ranger(100), with a 'ultimate' blaster hits for 1,4-1,5M per shot (90-some k weapon damage).
Those are the 2 highest hitters, though i guess my jester can outdps the ranger at pointblank, with his ultimate clava when manually spamming the fire button.

Those numbers are without any traded stuff (i dont trust them) and without any Event stuff.

The armors (sets) is a whole other story, no pieces above Transcendent on my dps, the very few DPS sups/ults i have seen were crap and got vendored.
'Accs' are trans/sup, nothing worth writing home about, iirc the ones i have dont average over 150 +h.dmg per piece and are much less impressive (to not say trashy) in the other stats.

Anyway, though it should go without saying, i obviously dont run around on easy/normal/hard in other peoples games with my 90-100's pwning things up.
Those people are still exploring the game and you should be ashamed if you go in and mess that up.

You have probably guessed it by now: no VAC on DD.
And yes, you have to report them.

Yes, to the likes of you and me who have played frighteningly much and rarely forget an offender. Others mostly do not have our kind of game and community experience and thus can not judge claims like that correctly.

i use on barb only items farmed by myslf, in fact i dont think i use more than two items from trade at all except my 2 event items. i have about 1100hours. perhaps thats not a bilionn dmg but with good buff and better barb as 8k is reachable it coulb be like 150each sword , and buff like 3.5 times that would make 525mil+525mil=one bilion, and thats with the use of gladiuses, im preety sure that with correct ssteam saw or event glacier demise you can go even futher :)

also about the sets, i once farmed insane lab(cause its damn fast and you can get ults already) for many manty times with emulator(4 heroes in game like if you had controllers) and got nothing useful, while on the same day i just joined random people and did 5 insane runs for them, and what did i get :supreme boots 341 ups almos a double builder cap attack and rate. RNG is made to be hated and loved :D btw im not a real type of farmer i farm rarelly most o fthose thaousnd hours was either playing random matches with guys online or pvp, capture the flag, and my favourite tower wars :D

My EV can deal 1.4 mill a shot with an etherian cannon from the crystal dimention level (with a cat I might add) and is only lvl 84 I believe. Someone doing over a million damage is not really that rare especially if you have an event weapon (which i do on my knight and can rage 150 million dps with it) When you get to lvl 74 your DPS spikes up alot then again at 78 and 83 then more at 90 and if your lucky enough at lvl 100(Ultimate++ gear is very rare from what I hear, only ever seen one piece myself) you will suprise yourself dealing as much damage when you reach these higher levels.

and for the record, if you are on open mode modded gear is completely fine and quite common as it is allowed (I myself have modded gear in open mode obtained from maps dowloaded from workshop)

Please don't create urban myths, there are already enough people who think Ultimate armor is required to be powerful. In fact the quality of the armor doesn't matter much. The stat points are scaling worse and worse as higher they will be. An 8k hero (most likely hacked stats if not played thousands of hours) isn't doing twice the damage of a 4k hero. Yes, it is noticeable but it is like 15-25% additional damage on Insane (Tavern dummy). Nightmare mode will scale it even lower.

Long story short: It's the weapon which decides if you are strong as #@$&.

We will have to talk in-depth here, since it is common to use the word 'modding' for hacking nowadays.

Modding = Your own creation of a game mode, item, models, skins, whatever using the official development kit.

Hacking = Manipulating values by using any other software than an official development kit.

dont use modded items when it ruins your experience ...... OP
also who would listen to kids talking about that stuff i would kick them after 2 seconds
Borch TrzyKawki Jan 14, 2015 @ 8:36am
pew pew gear doesnt neccessarily means armor, and the waepons when they reach ult theyre usually higher upgrades and better dmg per up, so that does mean some of 90+ lvl gear(weapons) are signifficantly better than 74-83 counterparts. btw guys with 250 hours in game arent really likely to get good event sword aka glacier legitimately

I really only use the gear (or even go into the open server at all) if i get frustrated or want to blow off some steam by beating up whateveer is giving me trouble in ranked mode, it can be quite fun in moderation but do it to much and the game gets boring and monotanous and you end up quiting a great game way early.

If you do have someone who you think is hacking then just report them and forget about it, its not really that common (imo) but it does happen. Anytime i see someone in open mode with "op" stuff (ie billion damage a shot) I just assume they got it from one of the workshop maps, which generally is correct (not much point in hacking something yourself when you can have someone else do all the work as a mod and just download a map or such)

And yes, if someone is hacking or talking of hacking I generally remove them if I am host or ask for them to be removed if I'm not host.

For the record I will admit I did not "earn" my glacier sword, it was given to me by a guy who was leaving the game for DD2 and was giving his stuff away to random people (from what I hear I got extremely lucky because the sword is very rare and extremely powerful)

Also get yourself a cat pet, they "can" double the damage you deal each hit (cats are easy to get a good cat quite hard) They are rewarded from the Sky City survival

Edit: Forgot to mention the Ultimate++ gear i was refering to was a sword I recieved doing NMHC Lab Assault, it had 450+ upgrades and 25k base and 20k elemental damage to start with and I think a +400something to hero damage

Actually i have 7.1k and ive haven't played that much but its because of events and its not necessary having so much hours if you have people who run maps and can help you and also that you dedicate most of time to farming as i did, if of thousands of hours you mean over 400 then my bad.
