if you are talking about teh final campaign boss, the best thing for him is teh barbarians hawk attack, because it does a lot of damage very quickly, if you do not ahve the barbarian, wait for him to breath continous flames (not fireballs) and this will give u a good 15-20 secodns to do damage before he flys away

A few harpoon or strikers (provided you have the extra build units after securing defense), placed up at on the towers (out of way of minion waves, angled to shoot down at dragons landing spot) can do much of the work for you. That and using the balistae, up on the towers to force him to land giving you the BEST window for actual attack.

I have found a few other small tricks that work ok. The dark aruas at the land spots largely interfere with traps, beams, and auras, but they can hit him when he stretches his next to breathe fire. Problem with traps is minions wasting the uses.Beams and aruas being better if sustaining damage,thus the previously suggested towers are better if available. However the EV's trapped beam if properly placed (it pretty difficult, you really need to manipulate the edge of the dark energy), can both avoid the minions and provide decent spikes of damage.

In the same way that a barbarians work well for hitting him, a good monk alongside will make it all the better. Hero boost is a perfect addition to double team the dragon, while rest of team secures crystal's defense.

The copters seem to overtake me while focusing on the dragon, the build time seems to really limit a good setup. I'm assuming I need to bring my Monk up and gear him a bit better so I can use his aura's. I depend on DPS for the copters which work but prevents me from setting up my summoner's minions. I would like to replace 4 of the strike towers with magic missles to get some ensare aura's down. I use 5 builders on NMHC. You can hit level 74 in 3 waves of NMHC Tavern Defense.

Monk, Summoner, Series EV are recommended. Summons can heal themselves and wall out Ogres. Auras take out weaker units. Buff beams make summons much better. Reflect beams stop projectiles from copters and ogres. You'll need a DPS to take out the Dragon. I use Jester.

Really? 6M per wave (0-74 is 18M), that sounds like i need to revise my notes.

Bringing one up to 74 is not the problem gearing one decently takes a bit more time, the shops seem to be thin lately or way freakin insane on pricing for low end / beginner myths.

ONTOPIC:
Take a look at my guide, you will see how to fight the dragon on 'Boss Rush'. The used strategy is the same for 'The Summit'. Do very low damage to anger him and wait for his 'fire breath' attack. Then you will kill him in no time.

Well, nobody needs to take a single piece out of the shops. It's risky anyways, since hackers are selling their ♥♥♥♥ there too. Running around with a hacked item get you banned, depending on the effort of the people you play with. Trendy still takes action against hackers if they receive a report with good evidences.

The Shard maps are dropping good enough beginner myths, it just takes a while to collect them on NM. Lab Assault from the Tinkerer's Lab Mission Pack provides a shortcut and can be beaten even on Insane to get myths.

Don't buy from shops. Check my guide if you need some help gearing up. I haven't quite figured out how to to farm Ult armor without already having Ult armor... but Lab Runs will easily get you 2k+ in every stat. Should be able to solo all but the hardest Nightmare maps.

All maps ca be done with 2k :p

The latest survivals would require DPS support or higher stats.

You can't depend on having good DPS that aren't modded. That really means you need to get carried. Some of my characters are 1500+. Here's a list of some of the harder maps I have yet to complete without being carried. Will see if following your guide works...

Hard Maps: Crystalline Dimension, The Tinkerer's Lab, Palantir, Winter Wonderland, Karathiki Jungle, Talay Mining Complex

Hard Challenges: Temple O' Love, Halloween Spooktacular 2!, War of the Djinn, Volcanic Eruption, Rumble in the Jungle

Probably Multiplayer: Boss Rush, The Greater Turkey Hunt!, Silent Night, Etherian Holiday Extravaganza

Sounds like a plan :) Some builds require practice and map awareness so don't give up if anything isn't working on first try but all are working fine.
