Is it possible to use the Bow vs the shark?

Yup!
Just make sure to use metal arrows, as it takes a LOT of stone arrows.

Shark hide from arrow quickly though, it take a lot of time to kill them with arrow only.

Meanwhile you can simply jump into the water, swim in a straight line to it; he won't hit you and you can land 1 + 2-3 hit without fin. Cost way less time.

Shark takes 30 stone/wooden spear hits OR 15 stone arrow / metal spear hits OR 10 Machete / metal arrow hits.
