Are the herbivores all helpless?
I remember Operation Genesis with moderate fondness. However there is much I'd improve about it - and here's one thing in particular.

In both OG and in all of the movies, something familiar to me is that the herbivores are all helpless fodder for the carnivores. From a narrative perspective it makes a bit of sense - gives a chance to show what the humans are up against before the humans themselves must start falling - but it's also immersion-breaking; part of JP's theme is that life finds a way, sustainably, which isn't possible if none of the herbivores can defend themselves.

I would like to know if, in JWE here, the herbivores all, or mostly, just fall to any carnivore they meet, or if they in fact can take T-Rex and the raptors for a ride.

No, there are many herbivores that put up awesome fights and in many cases, either chase away the carnivores or they kill them instead of them becoming the victim.

However, it truly depends on how strong, defensive, powerful, weak, or vulnerable you've created your dinosaur. You can modify everything about them before you create it. From Attack, Defense, to Lifespan, and other qualities you can adjust on every dinosaur. So you can actually create one extremely powerful herbivore that'll kick the crap out of carnivores... but then again you can create carnivores to be unbeatable because their attacks are so strong.

not all are herbivores helpless, some of them give a fight to small \ medium and large size carnivors.
there is a lot of hybrid genes that add defend and attack like 'upgrade' to some herbivores dinos that can fight back.

you can check youtube there is a lot of live feed of combat.

A lot of herbi's even with full mutations to their attack stat will never amount to most carni's, so yes, the fodder trend will continue.
Not a lot of kids will want something like an Anky to win because it doesn't really have that "cool" factor like a rex.

There are certain side missions which require herbivores to kill the carnivores

How is a giant clubbed tail not cool? It's down right Bad ass! Everything has teeth, but a giant knot of a tail, that is totally cool!

OP, there is evidence of triceratops killing t-rex, so there is that.. Not all are chicken fodder. In fact just like today some of the most dangerous herbivores are more deadly than the predators. Just ask anyone in Africa what kills the most people, If you said Hippo's you would be correct. Don't get near those things, they are nasty and will kill you for just looking at them funny. In this game there are a bunch that can completely hold their own especially if you tweak the DNA.

JC, I think Stratus agrees with you. Hence why he put "cool" in quotation marks. I know I certainly do.

Anyway, I know this. At least as well as I can without dinosaurs coming back to life and showing us. I'm asking this question about JWE. The Jurassic Park franchise has yet to strongly represent the formidability of herbivores against carnivorous dinosaurs. I wanted to know whether this game even remotely bothered to address this.

I got the dino mods and an Iguanadon killed my Procerato without any DNA mods
