I find it kinda pathetic that I still get more enjoyment out of a nearly 20 year old game than I do this one.
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forums/jwe-ideas-feature-requests/
Era locking isnt the issue, I would have expected that when playing in the 1993 era that they would include 1993 versions of things like the viewing vents and viewing platforms. I never expected for the tour to be the only attraction we were able to build.
Honestly, a set of 1993 skins for all the buildings in the base game would offer more freedom than what they gave.
Doubt it, possibly but doubt it. And personally, I think a 20 dollar DLC on top of a full priced game should come will more to build than a single attraction in a park builder game.
That's all they need to be able to do it.
You want more buildings like that, I very much doubt they would release them for free regardless of how many people who want it to be, would have to be included in another pack unless they are feeling even more generous.
Got to remember what they did in that campaign for it to possibly be $20, getting Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum again, and Laura Dern probably didn't come cheap.
But it the end, I'm fine with what was included and making use of it, rather then lamenting in what wasn't.
Edit: I do love the story remote hatchery option and how the Visitor Center has fossils, digs, and research in on... its just, what about a JP arcade or bowling alley, or some cool rides; missed opportunity.
You asked me about which savegame you have to use for all DLCs on my Nexus mod page.
I wonder if you actually played the Jurassic Park DLC.
Oh, you use another name on Nexus, but I draw my conclusion as of using the very exact same profile avatar. Even with a matching picture size (not resolution, but cut-out). XD
That said, I can understand you comparing JWE with JPOG, but I rather would recommend to do it in a proper way.
I've compared JWE and JPOG A LOT on this hub and my only conclusion was that Site B is slightly a bit better, unique game mode which is missing in JWE.
Everything else is actually completely garbage when compared.
You have a limit on dinosaurs (60 per park) and even a limit of buildings and fences.
If you mod your INI files to exceed these limits, then JPOG becomes very unstable.
So... If you really have fun with JPOG then you have to play a very limited version of it otherwise you cannot tell me that you enjoy your game is crashing every 2 minutes. oO

I am not sure what's so difficult to understand.
I previously either valued all these Skin Packs very badly.
But from an economical point of view it's acceptable.
As the people who were involved were programmers and graphic designers.
Who worked on the unique AI or new animations for new dinosaurs (if available) and the part of the designers were to create new skins.
All of these get paid for their work, but they don't receive something form the income of the sales directly.
They simply have a salary similar to you and me, if you have actually a job. ;)
We don't know how much they get paid, but it's surely possible that the company makes minus as the salary of all their employees combined is higher than the profit they overally make with their games.
It's unlikely, but we shouldn't ignore other expenses like marketing or actually creating new games.
We don't either know the values all behind that. But I guess a regular salary for a programmer and designer are pretty good.
I surely get you.
For myself, I would be thrilled to get the entertainment I receive from video games I enjoy either for free.
But that's not how capitalism works.
An IP isn't either under my personal control except it is my IP.
So if I am not happy about how a game is doing, I rather don't buy it or if I already own it, I simply wouldn't waste time in playing it. ;)
That was me. now I did actually play it before leaving this comment as well. I left this comment after booting into the game only to find that while playing in the 1993 mode that the tour ride was the only attraction we can build.
Also, a simple edit to the JPOG ini files and you are entirely unlimited on dinos and buildings so I dont fault that against JPOG at all.
EDIT for clarity:
I spent many many hours with the base game getting 5 stars on every island and building my sandbox park etc. I got bored of the game, stopped playing and when the return to jurassic park DLC came out I came back to the game only to discover that the DLC only allowed 1 attraction to be built.
Exactly! Very good point. Also if you want continued patching for the game and improvements, support the devs! They are normal people with families and need to afford things!
(btw,my god it's nearly 2020 and still I have to reply to a post on this awful forum software because there's no like button! Come on Steam, get into the 21st century and use a forum engine like Discourse already!)
The AI still feels lackluster, the DLC feels... rushed, if not 'tacked on'. I can understand supporting the developers, but most of the money goes to the major studio that holds the rights to
JP which is another reason why workshop wasn't included. They don't want their fanbase making free stuff where they can 'profit' on the gulable.
