I wouldn't be surprised if they're getting ready to close the servers soon. With this game requiring to be always online and after seeing what they pulled when they shut down the first game, I just don't trust them.

Doesn't make much sense to me to heavily discount a game and then kill the servers which makes it basically unplayable.
My guess is that they're trying to take people away from Forza with this old title (because they can't heavily discount the new one) and if anyone likes it, they go buy Motorfest or whatever is the latest The Crew.

Well, crew 2 is almost 7 years old and probably wont have more updates, now all the new update focus will be on Motorfest

I bought, 1 € is good. I already have it in UPlay, but wanted to have it on Steam. They just confirmed offline mode, in this video (time 1:20) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nij-T01zQzk , but mainly I consider Steam as a backup. I didn't have The Crew 1 on Steam and Ubisoft removed even possibility to download that game on UPlay. But owners on Steam are lucky and still can download it. It makes it easier when unofficial offline mod will be released.
