Reload speed vs attack speed in campaign?
So whats the difference? To me it kinda sounds like the same thing. Reload faster attack faster?

None of it really matters since you can spam attack either way by cancelling the animation.
Or am I just confusing it with the archers attack animation? Been a while since I did the campaign :D

I just go for range and tankiness when I'm levelling the exploration heroes.

Oh I thought attack speed was important since he shoots so slowly and range doesnt always matter so much like when they jump from around corners and such

it is, and it isn't.

it isn't because you can bypass his attack speed by selecting targets manually
making him attack much faster, if more tedious.

I went and did the hero missions at 25% and did every map in less than 10 minutes (phoenix point took 11 minutes because or more stuff to pick up)

and feel it improved the gameplay experience.

some hero missions are 'alright' and some are straight pain from hell.

theres a steel mill which is just a building full of zombies (at 800% at least) and enemies. not enough grenades, only some sandbags, so 45 minutes of just clearing out Zed.

but yeah if you click on next targets he'll fire faster. so I usually just go for damage and range.
Attack speed is very important even with animation cancel on 800% of hero missions.

The male hero can shoot about twice as fast with animation canceling but will still benefit from attack speed.

The male guy wants at least 1 dmg asap so he can 1 shoot the suit zombies.
Ideally you want enough damage to 1 shoot harpies.

You can hold the line very well with many attack speeds, animation cancel, and fast right clicks.

Reload speed is much less important as you will animation cancel most of it.

The female hero will need 1 reload speed for some reason but I forgot why.

And as always you want to manually right-click zombies one after another as that will skip most of the aiming animation.

The female hero is much harder to animation cancel as she attacks fast.

Steel Mill for me was like 50 minutes of kiting and shooting zeds on 800%.

Animation canceling will increase your DPS but also noise so you will pull more zeds.
For the male hero Caelus

damage > AOE > move speed > attack speed > range > reload speed > armour > health

This works well on 800% hero missions, damage is required so you can one shot harpies before they get to you, otherwise it's two shots and half your health is gone, later missions have multiple harpies that if you have no grenades need damage and attack speed for.

AOE to clear the large mobs of zombies

Move speed to run faster than suits to put distance enough to take additional shots for kiting, if you have enough speed you can evade all bar harpies so no point in armour or health tbh if you are getting into a situation where you need to tank you are probably close to dying or going to anyway

The rest is up to you depending on play style

Reload speed is only required for that first shot animation if you aren't shooting continuously (cancelling the animation)

Thanks for the replies,

Im doing my first campaign at 100% even forgot that there was a female hero now that you mention it. I think i already did most of those missions now, but I should probably have went more for aoe. Feels like these missions takes so much time im usually multi tasking and doing something else when he attack moves around in the safer larger areas.

if you are doing the hero missions at dunno 200% female hero might be better, at 800% Caelus is better for the AOE.

Did them all, two of them are really bad. uh. gimmie a second, I'll boot up the game.

the steel fortress and gamma medical center. the others either give you environmental traps or units to deal with the mobs.

those two, however, you are on your own kiting mobs for an extended period of time. and there are alot of mobs at 800% its not difficult, its just tedious.
