old post but i'm still having this problem and couldn't find a solution in the other discussions you linked.
edit; in real life, cooking something on high in the microwave for about 20 seconds heats it up nicely, but even going a full minute in cooking sim doesn't seem to be enough, and considering most of its times are lower than real life, that seems very odd. i'm using regular old deep plates, they definitely fit in the microwave.
