Question about fey (spoilers)
I know that fey and gnomes originally come from the first world. When creatures from the first world get killed there, they do not die like normal mortals, but their energy will manifest in a new creature in time. The ancestors of gnomes left the first world and now they are disconnected from the first world so they are normal mortals of the material plane.

questions:
- If a fey dies in the material plane, will they form newly in the first world or will they die just like any other creature of the material world?
- If they are reborn, they are outsiders and the only difference between fey and outsiders is that fey come from the first world while outsiders come from a plane with alignment (e.g. demons come from the chaotic evil abbys.).
- If they die normally, the only difference between gnomes and fey is that gnomes are considered people by sentient races of the material plane while fey are considered monsters. There is no metaphysical difference between them.

Edit:
Things get even more complicated.
Outsiders die normally when they die on their home plane because those planes are not cut off from the gods ( unlike the first world.)
Are elementals also outsiders?
The PnP rules say: "An outsider is at least partially composed of the essence (but not necessarily the material) of some plane other than the Material Plane. Some creatures start out as some other type and become outsiders when they attain a higher (or lower) state of spiritual existence."
A fire elemental is made of fire and comes from the plane of fire, so by the definition above it would be an outsider.
The definition of outsider does not state that the creature must be from a plane that is connected to a specific alignment. So any creature that does not come from the material plane and that is composed at least partly of the esence of this plane would be an outsider, including elementals, shadows, lots of other things and maybe even fey (see above).

No, if a Fey is killed in the material world, they die forever. Their immortality only exists within The First World. However, the Stolen Lands have a very strong connection to The First World, so it serves as a rare exception to this rule.

Think of them as a reverse take on outsiders. While normal outsiders are immortal if they are killed anywhere other than their home plane, Fey are immortal as long as they stay within it!

According to the lore, Fey creatures "lose most of their power" when they are killed. However, I have not found any detailed information regarding the specifics of this. Whether the loss of their power is temporary, or permanent, I can only guess. But the fact they don't seem to have too much of a problem with sacrificing themselves in battle, I'm going to assume that death is more of an annoyance than a true threat.

In Pathfinder lore outsiders don't have any sort of pseudo immortality unless they are rakshasas, asuras or demigods.

Main reason why fay aren't outsiders is because fay weren't outsiders in 3.5 D&D where the terms come from. 2e might just get rid of term outsider completely for all I know. Outsiders' thing is that(besides native outsiders), their body IS their soul, they don't have separate soul and body, so when they die, their souls breaks and bleeds the quintessence into the plane.

GrandMajora is pretty spot on. The only thing left to add is that gnomes have been away from the Fey Wilds for so long, they've nearly lost all their fey traits and have thus becomed natives to the Material Plane.

But yes and no to the elemental question, anything that is not native to the Material Plane ("our world") is as a general rule considered an Outsider.
But true definition is a being who does not have a soul separate from its body aka their body and soul are the same unit, which is the main reason why raise dead, reincarnate, and resurrection spells don’t work on an outsider.

Feys despite their miriade of god-like powers still posess mortal souls and are therefore not Outsiders. ( Which would make the Eldest pseudo-gods )

The hell you on about...? Outsiders are literally unaffected by time and while they breathe, they do not need to eat or sleep (although they can do so if they wish). For all intents and purposes they are immortal unless slain in their home plane.

Rakshasas and Asuras immortality has a leg up due to rebirth and reincarnation, but they lose a bit of themselves every time they do it, becoming progressively weaker until they can no longer do it.
