Sure, it's an exotic weapon. Although I think the racial weapons may have some issues with them at the moment.

Yea. You won’t be able to use your offhand spellcasting in battle, but you can regular spellcast and get the benefits of the curved blade.

You'll be able to use Spell Strike as well with melee touch attacks, but no spell combat because the offhand is not free.

Question
Bastard swords and elven curved blades can be both used in one hand or two hand configuration. There is no way to switch between this in game is there?
I think spell combat should work..... For a bastard sword at least currently it does not work
The character should just switch to using that sword in one hand for the duration of casting...
This looks like a bug to me.

i dont want him as a spellcaster anyway, my idea was using touch spells, apparently they are rly strong

If you have bastard sword the magus will use it one handed (mine does). not sure about Elven blade as it states it is 2handed.

Problem is even using touch spells you loos attacks per round.....
The spell casting feat alloves you to execute sword attacks while your casting spells.
If using a 2 hander you stop to cast a spell... Unles you quicken it into an instant basically.
So you might loos out on 1-3 attacks per round depending on your basic attack bonus and number of melee attacks per round.

An Elven Curved Blade is always a two handed weapon. "A bastard sword is about 4 feet in length, making it too large to use in one hand without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. A character can use a bastard sword two-handed as a martial weapon."
You can use it in one hand if you have the exotic weapon proficiency.

Really?
I tried that and he always keeps using it as a two hander.
Strange I do have the proficiency.....
But then again some proficiencies dont work in some combinations

My bad thought that the elven curved blades is basically a fancy bastard sword not a fancy greate sword

This is intended. When you use spell strike you sacrifice all of your other attacks to deliver your spell through your weapon (even with quicken).

"At 2nd level, whenever a magus casts a spell with a range of “touch” from the magus spell list, he can deliver the spell through any weapon he is wielding as part of a melee attack. Instead of the free melee touch attack normally allowed to deliver the spell, a magus can make ONE free melee attack with his weapon (at his highest base attack bonus) as part of casting this spell."

The main benefit of using spellstrike is that the spell keeps the weapons critical range. So if you have improved critical and an Elven Curved Blade your crit range will be 15-20 for both the weapon attack and your spell.

Definitely want more int you'll find as you level up that you wont get access to higher level spells because your int isn't high enough. I would suggest dropping strength down to 17 and investing more into int and dex (for AC).

Okay just checked this. I am not sword sait, just magus but I have exotic weapon prof: Bastard sword and i use it 1 handed. I cast a shocking grasp and he used sword to deliver it. So it seems to be working.
