Why is it so specific....why not just the same element...
Lonely Barrow is to the east of your capitol.
Head east towards the village located on the other side of the lake. Lonely Barrow should be somewhere along the way, around the middle section.
Apparently, the key is hidden inside the well of your capital city, but I can't find information on how to get into it.
So for those of us not running a mage in our group currently are pretty screwed over, so your only option is to load a prior save. Lost some time, better then lossing many hours though. Will have to come back with a caster to complete.
Looking through the scrolls you get, I am not seeing ones I can actually use to trigger the pillars. Poor game design, as devs may not have thought that there are groups who may not be playing with a wiz or sorc =(
I dont care what others say you should play, my group is pretty solid and doing just fine.
Paladin - Barbarian - shield tank - bard - ranger - cleric
Don't be over dramatic. You can buy scrolls to cast the skills, some classes start with the skills, or you can go back and swap in a wizard for five minutes to pass the trial. There are also wands that cast the skills. You can play any party you'd like - that's your choice, but you can't expect to be able to do every single thing in the game in a single play through. That'd just be silly.
