Best healer build.
Im looking for something different than tristian. Since i got jaethal on the party. Anyone got any ideas? And can i make like a healer thats also a decent archer or mage or buffer. So he isnt just a heal bot like tristian (i used him most of my playthrough but kinda tired of him)

Get a Cleric of Erastil with community and animal domain. The community domain gives extra heals too, the animal domain a pet, and Erastil lets you use a longbow.

Just stat your character better than I did :p

I like the Mystic Theurge for a more-than-healer. Pick any divine class and level it until you can cast level 2 spells, then pick any arcane class and level it until you can cast level 2 spells. Then switch to Mystic Theurge, and you continue gaining spell levels in both of the original classes.

Nice one.

I've only done it once. (Gotta finish the game on my first party before experimenting with others.) I went with a cleric to level 3, then an Empyreal Sorcerer (because it uses Wisdom like the cleric) to level 4, and now I'm up to Mystic Theurge level 4 as well.

Why not pick druid?

If you want a merc, go human cleric. Estiral for diety. Animal and Community Domains. Pump WIS and CHA, and DEX if you have anything left over. Feats are bow anything, the channel feats and boon animal.

Basically does the buff bot and channeled heals like Tristian, but also some plink damage with the bow, and the pet supplies the real dps and is an extra body.

Next play through with Jaethal I'm switching her to Cleric and going the negative channel aoe dps route.

The Paladin archer is a decent archer and all the CHA is good for lots of channel heals.

Maybe the pestiage class? Divine Theramage or something. Can cast divine and arcane spells.

I really like my ecclesitheurge cleric as my healer. I grabbed selective channeling and extra channel a couple times. With 14 cha I have something like 9 3d6 channels a day at level 5.

I went with weather and animal domains, I don't remember the God, but it also included air and water, which have nice nice nukes. There is also a God with fire and healing which makes a nice combo. The cool thing about ecclesitheurge is that you get a bonded item for extra casts and can memorize as many of your primary Domaim spells as you want in any slot. If you have fire you can cast a lot of fireballs.

My original plan was for a bow user/healer, but using a bow effectively really takes alot of feats that could be spent on extra channeling, metamagic, etc. This character feels kinda like a mystic theurge without being behind in spell levels.

The only issue I've had is that I couldn't take spell specialization in my domain spell for some reason.

Linzi's a pretty decent healer and archer. Bard's get access to some major healing spells and Linzi has high enough CHA to get a decent number of casts even if you aren't stating her for it.

Ahhhhh... so that's the Ecclesitheurge benefit I hadn't figured out yet.

except you lose the best spells from both classes that way. I prefer straight cleric, take healing domain to be a healer specialist and possible the extra channels feat. Community and animal domains are also nice...

Healer isn't really an in combat archetype because your guys will die fairly fast if they're not buffed. But if you want a healer, the best way to do it is to buy the helmet from the merchant in your kingdom capital that improves channel positive energy. Combined with the Selective Channel feat so that you only heal allies, you can use channels highly effectively. The helmet adds +1d6 healing to each channel. That's pretty amazing.

To maximize channels you need a cleric with high charisma. If you go PURE healer, all you really need is a maxed out Charisma and just enough Wisdom to cast. That's easily doable with various races for a nice 20 starting Charisma, and possibly 20/20 for both if you go Aasimar.

The only issue is you wouldn't have the strength to wear armor but the Ecclesitheurge doesn't do that anyway.

Low STR characters are like toddlers on a car trip.

My kingdom for a stupid donkey. I don't usually like games with this much inventory micro-management. I wish they had a simple level 0 cantrip that would turn items directly into their gold equivalent, so I could "clean up" all the maps where I've left junk scattered everywhere because my weakling characters can't haul it anywhere.

Bags of Holding and... when you go to leave, you can pick up everything except the items in the top container... then click on the heavy/cheap items... they will all go to that one container... so next time you come by that location, it'll be easily retrieved/sorted.
