Is it just me or is aasimar the best race stat wise
Now what i meant is the the 2 +2 stats and the freedom to pick what ones you get as well as a once a day and the halo and resistances. It just seems like the most versatial race. For example i was making a scaled fist half orc but my stats were kind of meh so i changed to aasimar and they turned out a lot better.Opinions please also is half orc kinda pointless for a a monk as one of their racels dont matter since you most likely wont use a weapon let alone a orc one.

I only see 4 races as useful.

Aasimar, +4 stat points but some of them are quite bad like I think strength also gives charisma. The other bonuses are a nice additions.

Human, 1 more feat at first level and +2 in 1 stat. Great for classes that have a very limited amount of feats but wasted on classes like fighters who get 1 feat every level.

Halfling, best tank.

Elves, I assume they would make the best casters.

Gnome wizards are CC gods in PnP.

Humans are overall "best" and become the base for exotic builds for that extra feat, and cheap multiclassing.

In this game, I put humans above all else for that feat. Darkvision is irrelevant, 1 ac from size can be mitigated with a feat, 1 ab from size the same, resistances are not as useful as they appear thanks to gear/buffs, and quite frankly, there is no roleplaying incentive to even bother to mention.

I kind of have to agree. Even if you don't want charisma or wisdom the +2 in one of those can just make it a 2 point dump to put somewhere else without dropping your will save or dipol skill in to a negtive.

Humans still are best if you need that extra feat or skillpoint. If baring that their is little reason to take anything but the assimar.

I think a small case can be made for Elf. Int/Dex are good for a few builds and the bouns to spell pen also is good for most builds you would want the int/dex for. And the drop from con also does not impact the sort of builds you would want int/dex for. Wizards/Rouges/Arcane trickers those sorts of builds.

Halfling rogues for the ac/ab and stealth bonus.

Dwarf has a unique feat that offers +4 to saves vs spells and spell-like effects, and a bonus to combat maneuver defense... not too shabby.

And don't forget, full speed under encumberance, and regardless of armor!

Really a mixed bag. You can easily replace everything with custom gear. A +Stat item will cover that +2 but then the asamir can get a +feat item or skill item to cover the Wen you can get plenty of + Stat gear easily enough.
Several of the other races, dwarves included, have some handy stats that you can bolster builds with. The asamir are not the be all and end all.

The extra feat from humans isn't that great. You will often have more feats than you know what to do with, especially with classes that get extra feats. Aasimars are just plain OP
No. I know what to do with all my feats, and almost always want more feats. I’m feat starved on almost every build except fighter heavy ones.

Send all your extra feats to me! =D

The wings feat at level 10 is nice to have...fighters can from now on ignore difficult terrain, allowing your casters to play that card whenever they want more control.

It's the best race for Paladins, especially 2H ones.

It is more powerful than most races, simply on account of getting 2 stat bonuses and no negatives, and once the alterate racial options are factored in, a lot of versatile options.

For those who don't know, before Pathfinder, for this reason, you used to have to take a +1 level adjustment to be a race like Aasimar or Tiefling. This meant that, for example, if you started as a level 1 Aasimar Sorcerer, you would remain level 1 while the rest of your party got to level 2. To get to level two, you had to get to the amount of experience required for level 3. Your level progression, effectively, was delayed by one level for the rest of the way.

Pathfinder did away with that system of level adjustements, so the Aasimar is even better than before. The level adjustments were arguably a bit too punishing. Now the aasimar is arguably the most powerful standard race in the game.

To be fair though, they used to have even better bonuses than what they have now(like bonus spells).

Overall, most of the races have their uses.
Humans having 1 additional feat and extra skill points, helping out feat starved classes(IMO, not that important, as most classes get bonus feat "to work" their intended role anyway, but it can help in some cases, and does speed up the power curve).

Dwarves makes good Druids and Monks, as well as Inquisitors and Rangers.

Elves makes excellent Wizards and Sages.

Gnomes makes good illusion based spell casters.

Halfling makes for interesting tanks(although their damage tends to be a bit restrictive) and rogues.

Half Orc are great fighters and Rangers(as the extra feat from Humans are not really needed for those 2 classes).

Aasimar are very flexible and provides a good foundation for a fighter, a rogue or a caster archtype.
Their best role is probably Angel-kin Paladins, as they can easily start with 16 in both Str and Cha, as well as decent Dex and Con values.

I know that the race point system is somewhat inaccurate, but ignoring that, aasimar is an advanced race. They rank at 15 race points, compared to the core races which are ~10 rp each. While races such as kobold are lower than 10, because they are weak and get fewer innate abilities than the core races.

In short, aasimar are designed to be more powerful than the core races.
