Nok companion quest spoiler warning
Why do I not have the option to kill them all at oleg's post? I have no desire to have a tribe of goblins in my capital, I shouldn't be forced to do so in order to clear them from oleg's. I'd kill all of them and nok nok right there if he defended them so how come there is no other option?

This game seems to punish non evil MC. I refused the evil lady advisor and exiled the priest of Lhamatsu (evil goddess). Then i got betrayed by Tristan and will have to welcome the backstabber back (if its possible) or fail due to a lack of councilor... And now i´ll also have to choose between never return to Oleg (and leave a quest unfinished) or ruin my kingdom because i spared Nok-Nok. I hope this major patch makes a good playthrough viable. As it is now, the game seems to be winnable only by going CE from the start or accepting truckloads of crap as reward for good deeds (and even then its better go with a walkthrough...).

you can straight up kill both the goblins and the hill giant if u wish...option (as someone said earlier) to kill goblins lasts entire conversation...and u can just kill hill giant if u wish...so im not sure what ur issue is...not to mention u can kill nok-nok when u first encounter him

I´ll be glad if i can kill both goblins and giant to spare my kingdom while finishing nok-nok quest. But what i read so far is that you get the goblins negative event if you complete the quest in any way other than welcoming the giant (which them produce the giant negative event). And the game does have bugs of dead NPCs appearing and doing stuff...

You picked an optional goblin in your team and whine later when it does goblin thing... clap clap clap.

Doesn't every companion have a dialogue saying "go away forever"?

Sure, but some will say "No, I wont" till whatever quest they're tied to finishes. I told Nok Nok I dont want him with me and he still followed me to the capital. Tristian wont leave either till the oculus bit is done.

Ah. So what about if you just don't do their quest? They are all on an inbuilt timer, so either that would be a workaround to get rid of them or it might mean you are stuck with them forever xD

Now, a few patches later, I have to ask:
Is there a way to NOT have goblins in my capital and to solve (or not solve) this quest. I just don't want goblins in my capital OR at Oleg's post.

What can I do?

No, "not picking Nok-Nok" is no Option anymore .... :blankbs:

I don't know of a way to get rid of them altogether at that stage. However, I didn't experience a lot of what the older posts in this thread mentioned. I did end up with goblins still in my kingdom, but nothing really bad happened as a result, as far as I can recall. I've heard that the giant can cause problems, so I recommend killing the giant during this quest (which you definitely can do). After killing the giant and completing the quest, I got the option to build a Goblin Quarters building, which takes up 2 slots and gives -1 Loyalty, +2 Relations, and +3 Espionage. Yes, that dings Loyalty, but not much, and Espionage can be hard to catch up to the other stats, since it's the last advisor position you unlock. Also, you don't *have* to build that building at all if you don't want to. I only built one. . . in my town in the Kamelands, not in the capital.

I think when you talk to Nok-Nok after the quest he says something about his fellow goblins being in the capital now, but that bit of dialogue is all I've seen about it. I think some of the bad effects mentioned in the older posts must have been patched out.

All of that said, I haven't finished the game yet, so I don't know if the goblins result in a bad ending slide.

They added the option to make mercenaries serve as advisors.

Unfortunately, they seemed to have missed the entire point, by giving them a massive -4 penalty to their governing stat.

Which means that in order to break even, they need to have a minimum of at least 20 in the governing stat you want.

Also, Tristian is not explicitly a traitor. He's being compelled by a Geas. An extremely powerful enchantment spell that causes excruciating pain and even death if the victim refuses to obey the caster's orders.

Oh ok ..... I just dit not make the quest. Therre is now a ugly red cross in my quest journal. :steamfacepalm:

Now I'm not sure if I should make a older savegame and give them a try.

I really like my little cobolds, they even have a small town in my capital. But a tribe of goblins .... oh no. :(

@ISENGRYM
Could you please give a little feedback, when you finished the game, about this matter.

I'd be happy to, but you should know that I'm a terribly slow and plodding gamer. It's probably going to be a couple more weeks at least before I reach the end. If you want to know about ending slides sooner, I'm sure others in the forums could tell you. If you want to start a new thread asking about the consequences of having goblins in your kingdom, I expect someone would let you know how it turns out. ;-)

Re: failing Nok-Nok's quest: This has other consequences later on. I don't know if they would bother you or not, or if you want spoilers. If you want to know, I can tell you.
CHAO$$$ Jul 16, 2020 @ 7:27pm
The goblin and kobold buildings are 2 of the more cost efficient ways to boost espionage "early" on.

There is no "bad" ending slide because of letting goblins into your city as far as i remember.
