Kalikke & Kanerah quest (SPOILER)
I have a couple of questions for this companion quest. First of, is it timed? Or can I take my time with it?

Second, how many tasks are there to keep their friends busy? Should they be busy when you go for the soul eater? Or can they have completed them all before? I have sent them to all available missions so far, but the quest is still open so I figure there should be more?

And last but not least: Any tips for the fight? Oddly enough, I can't place a single hit with this stupid soul eater, before he kills all of the 3 tieflings.

I'm not sure if the Sorrowflow quest is timed, but you should absolutely do it as soon as possible, because you need to have completed all the Sweet Teeth quests before the start of the companion quest with the soul eater.

There is a final sweet teeth task that doesn't become available until you have gone to the Linnorm's Grave in the Tors of Levenies, and I think you need to get to the Varnhold chapter to be able to go there. You have to tell them to polish the linnorm bones.

As for combat, they're outsiders, so have you tried just casting Dismissal/Banishment? Other than that, they have mediocre Fort and Will saves (but do have SR, so make sure your casters have Spell Penetration). Their immunities are against poison, critical hits (including sneak attack), sleep, paralyzed, stun, and prone, which include some of my favorite tactics, but they're still vulnerable to blindness (Glitterdust/Blindness), compulsions (Cacophonus Call, Castigate, Hold Monster, Challenge Evil, Confusion, Overwhelming Grief...), charming, polymorphing (puppy soul eater, lol). They're also still vulnerable to slowing and fear. Basically, just reach into your big back of tricks and cast any of the "save or lose" spells to buy some time.

Oh, right, and their AC is mediocre and DR is only against magic, so they're definitely vulnerable to Charge and "I cast SWORD TO YOUR FACE!" If the problem is just buying time to get the fighters there, just cast Fog Cloud on Sweet Teeth so the soul eaters miss half the time, and Slow on the soul eaters. (You've already gotten Blind Fight for everyone because of those primal monsters with perma-blur, right?)

hey thank you so much! I've just visited the Linnorm's Grave near Varnhold, so I'll check if there is another task available for the three. Or is it too late once the devil appeared? Could I go to the meeting point while the three are gone and they'd still be there? Wouldn't really make sense, would it.. hm. However, thanks for the tips on the fight. I met a couple of soul eaters so far and never had the same issues, that literally NOTHING made a hit. Despite the Voldekai soul eater going for my Linzi solo fight, I had no troubles with them so far. So I'll try to buy some time for the three.

Quests can be bugged, like the last one with Valerie. I did it right, just like a walkthrough said, but in the capital she had nothing to say about it and the quest got never completed.

i just want to chime in, i put off going to the sorrowflow until my party was level 9 and when i got there and got the tiefling in my party and leveled her/them(?) up, we just destroyed all the enemies there.
it seems that it was balanced that they expected you to go there right away and given that it's a pretty short adventure once you get there, it might be worth going early if you want to use the character(s).
i myself have no idea how to fit them into my party and who to kick out to make room.
valerie is my tank. . tristan is my healer, octavia is my mage, i need jubi alchemist. . then there is my character and amiri, i made her a sacred huntress so she's worth 2 characters with her pet. i have no idea who to remove.

but I digressed.
the quest is pretty short and they meant for you to do it early. the hard part is getting there, because that area is kind of far from where your other quests likely want you to be (assuming you are still in the trolls threat)

I would personally recommend switching out Tristian for either Harrim or a mercenary cleric who's useful beyond just casting.

Beyond that, the kineticist sisters can do basically, especially starting level 13, when you can get Deadly Earth. (Which is like infinite use, no-save Burning Entangle... without the entangle.) Unless you need Jubilost for skills (and because they're two characters with separate skillsets and Kanerah is Int-based, there's actually good use for her as a skill monkey even if you only use Kalikke for combat), he's the most obvious one to swap out, Amiri otherwise. That said, you're not saying what your MC class is, so maybe one of the other roles, like cleric or wizard is redundant.

I went there after completing the Sweet tooth quest. I rushed my party to get there early, and Kalikkes ice bold was rather useful too. But it all depends on how you skill your companions, as you can see in this threat.

@icedfate: I personally swapped Tristian for Eku by now, if I'm not fighting undead, as he and his dog are really good damage dealers. And the dog is basically the perfect 2nd tank. Amiri is almost full babarian in my team with a hint of assasine, so her critical hit chance is insane. Jubi is a must indeed, my own char, Reg as a mage and damage dealer, and most of the time Linzi for buffs.
