Want to finish with true ending
So I played 250 hours, and I'm at the final fight with the lantern king.
I thought I was all set up to get the true ending, but to my surprise Nyrissa tells me we should have spend more time to get rid of her curse.
So I've searched what's going on and I found that because of bad RNG I missed the Tartuk and Armag dialogue. So the 'So Shall You Reap' quest never triggered.

Does someone know how I can edit my savegame to set it in the correct state before entering the building with the lantern king?
Then I'll just watch that quest on youtube somewhere and finally finish the game.

I dont think what you are mentioning is the true ending . As far as I recall, "so shall you reap" procs if you DONT reach an agreement with Nyrissa which isnt what happens at the true ending .

PS: I know the title is self- explanatory but I would suggest to put the word spoilers just in case.

There was an instruction for how to modify the save files floating around here somewhere around the time of release, although I would obviously be careful about it, taking a backup etc since it would be unsupported.

A good starting point would be the guide that is around on steam for achieving this ending. However, I think it might be that you would need to go back to right before you fought Nyrissa in her home, if you had a save back then. You would need to select certain dialoges there, and then have a quest trigger in the aftermath that you need to follow to its conclusion. This guide mentions a lot of the variables from the save files, so it might be possible to find it based on that.

The guide is https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1587659146
Check the chapter called The Skylarks Song

I do consider it worthwhile to follow it if you have the opportunity, since it clearly displays that they worked it in a lot of hidden meaning from your very first meeting, but I also agree that it is incredibly difficult to find if you do not follow a guide.

Luckily I have hundreds of save games.
I have edited my savegame before talking to Nyrissa. I added 9c0b744e62fd6854a97216dd87907b6e for the Armag conversation.
I get additional conversation options, and the "So Shall You Reap' quest triggers when I enter my capital.
Now I'm just going to use Story mode to rush through the parts I already did before.

Good job. I hope it turns out well for you :) And good thing that while difficult on the higher levels, the last chapter is not very long, so it should be rather straight forward on that mode :)

And I'm done. 252 hours. Beat that Lantern King on normal difficulty in 3 tries with level 19 characters. Hell of a fight.
For some reason the frame rate was terrible in that fight. I don't have a great graphics card, but I never really had a problem until that fight.

Well done :)

I never had any technical issues with that fight, but it is certainly one of the more difficult and interesting fights. Hopefully you got to enjoy it despite the lag

I like how LK gets more and more unhinged as you progress through the fight, until just losing it and going full f off god mode.

There is no "true" ending. Calling it such ruins the sense of player immersion and role playing.

There is, however, a "secret" ending which can only be achieved by Good Alignment characters.

You need to express romantic feelings for Nyrissa and not have any other lovers at the time. She will treat you like crap for most of the game, but keep showing her love and affection, regardless.

You also need to research a minimum of 13 (out of 16) curses, some of which are mandatory, and the others are optional. However, this will require a great deal of time management, and leave some of your advisers too busy to help with projects and events for most of the game.

Finally, you need to make sure that Nyrissa does not recover the Briar on her own, but instead receives it from you. This can only be done by convincing Tristian to destroy the Eye of Abadon, instead of bringing it to her.

You also need to freely return it to her, instead of using it to extort her allegiance or something like that.

---------------------------

The curses which are available in game are as follows:

Davik Nettle

Village in the Swamps

Scythe Tree

Bald Hilltop

Tartuk

Jenna Tannerson

Lake Candlemere

Everblooming Flower

Ivar

The Hanvaki Family

Vordakai

Faceless Sisters

Tristian

Armag

The Briar

The First Crown

Indeed. That, together with the very fitting music really did it for me when it came to getting drawn into the fight :)

Also, I'd like to finish it at all. I just can't muster the willpower needed for such a horribly long game. How many chapters does it have? 7? 8? Regardless, that's too much. Not even BG2 had as many and it was FAR SUPERIOR to Kingmaker.

Lets not complain about having too much content here, shall we? Games releasing with far less than they should is a much bigger problem these days in my opinion

Also, I am not sure you are correct here. It might be that the number of acts differ, but BG2 had the part in the middle where you go to some of the available choices in order to raise enough money to progress and each of those are large enough to compare with some of the main quest chapters here. So when I make a playthough of BG2, I usually end up spending a bit more time than when I make a playthough of PF:K despite BG2 in theory having less chapters

And none of that matters too much. If you enjoy the game, keep playing. If you dont, dont. As long as you are having fun, the end will come all too soon. And if you just want to get to the end, you can always dial down the difficulty and rush through the maps.
