FPS limit?

This wonderful game runs at 144 on my laptop and heats it like hell hits the sinners. Strange that such a pc-oriented game doesn't have in-game fps limit.

except it does. same as every other game you can just turn v-sync on or limit it in the driver, so it's a chair-keyboard connection problem.

Nope, almost any game today has a dedicated fps limit option. V-sync just locks fps to refresh rate which is 144 on my laptop. Driver and other utilities is a way, but not the one I'm talking about here.

so in a nutshell you do have a way to solve an issue, but are unwilling to do so. Nobody is at fault that your laptop can't run a game at 144hz without blowing up. You can fix it within driver. Or just download any FPS limiter you fancy since it'll be a reoccurring theme with a 144hz screen laptop, so it'll be a fix for all of them and one easy to turn on/off as needed.

OP, I had the same issue (except desktop, not laptop). For me, I went into NVIDIA control panel - manage 3D settings - Set FPS limit. You may be able to do something similar. Hope this heps.

Thanks for that, just set the FPS limit in the NVIDIA control panel and it does indeed work.
