Army Recruits
I just got the kingdom military advisor event where he provides his report on the state of the military, finds it lacking, and recomends recruitment. The LG Swordlord orc advisor recomends let anyone, and everyone, into the army. Other choices are to allow the toughest, or those with ambition, etc. In NWN2 allowing anyone and everyone into the army was THE ABSOLUTE WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE BAR NONE. The best choice was to set the standards as high as possible, or the player was severly punished. Given how unforgiving this game is, I would not be suprised if there was a similar mechanic, making one choice the only real viable option. What should I pick, and what is the effect of each choice? Thanks!

Why didn´t you check the wiki first? The guys who wrote (are writing) them don´t do them for nothing, they write it to help people like you!

@cloudhunter I searched both good and the steam discussions, I find that to be sufficient due dilligence in most cases.

@cloudhunter the event I am referencing is not on the wiki link you provided. It should be a throne room event. Did you check before you posted that the answer was there?

But you can solve this stuff easily by yourself. I made a big list for myself: just save before you make the decisions and reload afterwards again: (haven´t tested, what happend, if you recrut all)

Rekrut all: ?
Rekrut the strongest: +1 at General decisions
Rekrut the ones with the biggest ambition: +2 at general decisions, -1 Mil every time the general fails.

Edit: could be, that i tested, what happens there, but could not find some result. i just wrote "?" there.

Biggest Ambition is the highest payoff, but also a gamble.
Recruit Strongest is moderate payoff.
Recruit Everybody gives you no benefit now, but creates an event later that can be really good or really bad if you succeed / fail.

Not really it gave a trick (does not know if it ever get patched) you set up the standart as high as possible for some time until you get nothing more and then lower it to the lowest, still had top moral and quality but ends up with more than 3K soldiers (you need upgrade full wapon and armor before lovering standard too)

I went with only the strongest - it works, you get a bonus, and nothing comes back later to bite you.

@cloud great experimentation, the answer I was most interested in knowing the effects of was "recruit all" as that is what the LG adviser recommends. I'm not surprised the wiki does not have the info-- I have found holes in it in many areas, but it is still useful in others.

@Iri thanks, looks like you have the skinny on all of 'em. Hopefully now there is a searchable record in Steam for this thread so others can get these answers.

@Jodegafun Interesting... I never knew that trick the online guides I used in NWN2 showed you had to select strongest to optimize.
