No camp events?

Soo I've seen on few gameplays of other players, that after camping in the wilderness(as in actual map not the world map), you sometimes get dialogue with companions?(I saw several with Tristan,Octavia and Valerie I think - in diffrent stages of the game) It didn't trigger for me even once and I'm playing for about 60h. Just wondering if I'm the only one or it's some kind of bug.

I've never seen any camp events either. I see people referencing "camp conversations" in their posts sometimes, but it's not something I've ever had happen.

I've seen a handful, but then again, I only camped in the wild only a handful of times. Most of my resting is either at the capital or on the travel map. It wouldn't hurt to trigger some camp-banter even while on the map - but then they'd have to load an area, and reload the map...

I see them all the time, except when I’m on the world map. Literally every time I camp. I find them entertaining too. Best read I to use the premade companions in my opinion.

You only get camp events from resting within an area, you won't get them for being a good player and only needing to rest on the world map.

Jesus, just read that again if you didn't get what I meant. I specifically asked about resting within area(by saying not in the world map).
Anyway I can pretty much guess now that I've encountered a bug affecting my 1st and 2nd gameplay by not having those camp events. Pretty annoying and game breaking(as I proably miss out A LOT by not having these)

Do you actually have characters set to various camp duties? If not, there's no chatting.

Wait,seriously? So I can get camp event with another companion only if my character and let's say Harrim or Tristan don't have a camp role?

I dont think your character can have an event with companions. Its just some random idle chatter or monologue.

In a game where companion dialogues doesnt advance more than their personal quests, expecting that devs put some clever events with your character is naive.

Its not a camp event, i got that too. He just thanks you after resque from temple of elk. I think i had something like that with regongar or octavia after resquing them from slavers.

You likely missed it, because it happens only in first act and only if you rest outdoors. So yea, you've missed couple scrolls, restart the game probably.

Well it certainly didn't trigger for me :( And the ones with Octavia/Valerie are only happening when you romance them,right? Same guy posted conversations with them after camping.

I think only characters assigned to camp duties will chat, and so far for me it always involved characters on guard duty. Makes sense from an RP perpective, since they're on guard they're getting bored with nothing else to do so they get chatty.

Probably, i havent romanced anyone. As i said in that post this event with tristian triggers only in first act and only outdoors, so its very likely you miss it, especially if you went into temple after tree.

This was my experience as well, although the character who you set to 'special' camp duty (the uniques) also participates. Not quite sure about the cook, I used my main character for that -- so no dialogue.

Well this design is either retarded or bugged then. Thanks for claryfication maybe It'll work and make game experience a bit better :P
