Your call if its worth it. I dunno what the other thing does, but yeah the fight is insanely tough. Helps being a Paladin but still.

They don't get offered to the vendor like the usual trash so maybe they do have a purpose somewhere down the line.....probably be the last thing I'm holding as my kingdom burns down around me

Thanks for the info; too bad I popped the three demons already
That's how I did it, anyways...
The demons are bonus xp, especially if the pally can do the group smite.
The rubies are pretty great to get, since they sell for 22.5k gold. Each. So 45k gold total.
P.S. In my other runs I had Tristian around so the passage gets collapsed.
This is basically how I approach the fight, and it works well on Unfair. I'd add summons like Animate Dead to distract them and Crusader's Edge from Tristian since they are Evil Outsiders. Making sure casters have boosts to Spell Penetration if they are targeting the daemones with spells. Death Ward on everyone is pretty key. And yeah, pits or Blade Barrier seem like good ideas also. The Astradaemons were the tougher of the two I found.
This to me is the boss fight for the dungeon, over Vordekai. But I look forward to it and prepare for it. The rubies are worth tons of gold, so that's your reward, but also the xp! Worth way more than the ritual's blessing of +2 vs. Poison & Death Effects I'd say.
And regarding Tristian, you can absolutely choose to override his wishes here and still get him to make the best choice during Vordekai's fight by making supportive choices with him everywhere else. For role play, I consider it as helping Tristian have the courage to thoroughly purge the place of evil.
lol lapdance from demons?
