lost child solution
so me like many other are getting annoyed by tig the lost child just being killed after u get the spirit down. so heres the solution and why it is. its so easy and kinda makes sense, all u gotta do is go around the lizard village and resolve the issues the lizard folk have and do it in a way to make them not belive in the spirit. as for y this makes sense is because the spirit gain power from the villagers fear so fix that and it wont have the power to take tig down with him.

If you use an evil option to threaten the lizard chieftain by saying you'll chop off his limbs, burn down the village and salt the earth, the creature possessing the child will just give him to you without a fight. Apparently, you scared the chieftain more than he ever could, and he's feeling generous about it!

This (and many other quests) are so vague. This one talks about getting "old rattler" as though I know who that is. I never met anyone like that nor can I find him. Broken quest.

He's the lizard that meets you outside the village. In fact, I believe he outright introduces himself as such when you try talking to him.

Problem is: this way requires you to make Good/Chaotic choices. So you have to pick specific aligment choices to save the kid. This is unfair.

Also, I think there is supposed to be a workaround with tribe's shaman. But in this way spirit will always kill Tig with lightning bolt.

Didn't tried evil option with chief, though. Maybe it will work.

u can buff the kid to not take any damage but if u dont meet certain requirements the kid still dies after the fight. that i tested at length

your first paragraph contradicts the last one. If there is an evil option with the chief, then you are not required to make good choices.

Perhaps you didn't know that the evil option exists before reading the other person's post (I certainly didn't) but just because we don't know that the option isn't there, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

Not really? Why should an evil character give a crap about saving a kid who was stupid enough to go wandering around in the swamp? Who the hell is his mother that she has the gall to petition the baron himself to go trudging across the Stolen Lands in search of her child, anyways? That is why we have a town guard!

If one of your party members has glittering dust spell prepared, than you will get the option in conversation to save the kid without any aligment choices.

just exhaust all the chat options with the named lizards. strange I know.
I couldn't get the kid to live after about 5 retries, and I couldn't be bothered with all the suggestions of going back to the witch, and then the mother (at the capital!) and then back again, so I just made sure to chat to all the named lizards in the village and hey presto! the little squibb gets back up after the lightning strike!

go figure!

so I've used the "good" options for the 3 named lizard men (the egg hatchery one, the lizard stable one, and the farmers). I went back to the capital to speak with Jenna at the tavern. I've tried using glitterdust in the dialogue option, and also went with the option to have Rattler reveal the spirit. I've buffed Tig with remove fear, healed him during the fight, used communal protection from evil and resist electricity, aid... but every time, no matter what I do, Tig dies. If I reveal the spirit myself, Tig dies the moment I kill the spirit. If I bring Rattler in, the spirit shoots a lightningbolt before the combat starts which instantly kills Tig. What am I missing here?

Wait the child can die? D: never knew of that option

Tell the farmers to grow food, and ignore the spirits. Not all good dialogue works.

No matter if the chieftain agrees with you or not, even if u have to kill the village, just agree with the spirit and give the lizard to him. If the chieftain agreed to u before u can save the village, kill the spirit and save the child + Lizard, tho my chieftain died that time but he deserved it. (Help the poor lizard dying in the west side tent, might help).

The way I see it is that you won’t always save every one every time. I might try to buff him next time though if that is what my char would do.

This... I didn't realize that either. I saw it in the bugs section but figured it was just a bug that didn't happen to me.

There are several ways to make sure the kid survives. Evil option, Good option, have the shaman help you, help yourself by having glitterdust on hand, help the villagers feel less fear, etc.

They all seemed pretty straightforward to me and the kid has survived every time I've done it.
