only for overcoming enemy save rolls
edit* spell focus is a requirement for spell specialization. Spell specialization allows you to cast a spell "as if" your caster level was 2 levels higher (only 1 spell, can be changed every time you level up) but thats not very useful for summons and buffs either.
EDIT: Sorry for the misinformation, it turns out that Spell Focus works for most Sorcerers but it might be bugged for Arcane Bloodline sorcerers (needs confirmation).
? Its two top spell focuses to pick lol. Want enemies to have 1 str or dex? Want all those cloudkills acid sprays etc? Dont forget that spell focus also opens spell specialization, and that one actually add +2 level to spell, which is incredible for almost any school
are you sure about this? If that was the case, there would be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of complains, thats supper common feature that needs to work, unlike bugs with dual wielding, shield bashes etc
actually they were working for a while, and then the item duplication bug came in and since my Main character was wearing the necklace giving +1 to enchantment DCs......lol
it went ot heck
DC 47 for Hideous laughter for example, sigh
And from what Malacar just said, does Spell specialization work with sorcerer?
correct! :)
Slow is one of the best debuffs in game
so is Stinking Cloud
Read description, if for example summon states 1 round / caster level, add +2 caster level to duration, so yes, it does extend duration, probably in almost all cases ( might be some exceptions ) Its actually pretty good use, favorite haste/slow/summons even some abjuration defence pretty damn good.
Imagine creating 1st level with favorite spell magic missile, you can cast 2 missiles at once, its pretty damn worth. And the best thing is, you can change favorite spell any time you advance as spellcaster, so this feat never obsolete and always fun.
also DISINTEGRATE (no idea if that's in the game. my only mage is octavia and she's at level 4 wiz spells still)
and probably a bunch of others.
IIRC you need spell focus conjuration for the "augment summoning" feat which you probably want as a dedicated summoner.
Spell Focus
Greater Spell Focus
Spell Specialization
Arcane Bond - Object (restore one spell after it's been spent, once per day)
UPDATE: It turns out that the above feats are only broken for Arcane Bloodline sorcerers. They should work for all other sorcerers.
Things that work with a caveat:
Elemental Focus
Greater Elemental Focus
These do work, but not if you change the element of a spell. For example, if you have Elemental Focus - Electricity, it will affect the DC of your Lightning spell, but not the DC of your Fireball spell if you make it do lightning damage using the Bloodline Arcana - Air ability.
I've tested all of this when the game got released. Some of these problems might have been fixed in the recent patches, but it's pretty unlikely since none of it were mentioned in patch notes.
cmon man, surely if spell focus didnt work on sorc, there will be like 10 pages of it every day.
Can anyone else confirm this?
