It's basically just dual classing your caster without too much of a penalty (a few levels lost to prerequistites). You still can only cast one spell at a time but you have a huge selection to cast from. You get the spells later than usual as a result of the multiclassing so you're less potent than a pure wizard or pure cleric early on.
Besides a few archetypes get close to the same without splitting classes (except in term of total number of spell per day)@
You end up casting as a 15 Arcane, 15 Divine, if you split the regular classes evenly, which gets you 8th level spells on both sides. Alternatively, if you go 7 / 3 on the regular classes, you can get 9th level spells for one class, and 7th for the other.
Plus the ability to use Divine slots for Arcane spells (at a penatly of +1 level, eg lvl 4 cleric slot for a fireball) or vice versa, makes them very flexible.
Just try to be careful on which classes / archetypes you use, since its possible (and way more effective) to have both classes using one stat.
actually in this game at max level you can cast two spells at a time, one from eac divine and arcane.
All the time or just once a day as per pen and paper?
If it's all the time, then it got way much more powerful once you reach level 16/17 (depending on initial class choice)
In the game there doesnt seam to be a set limit.
