Any tips on building regongar hard difficulty
He is been solid. He is at level 6 now. As well he is ready next level to go DD. I am confused 🤷‍♂️ what should I do? Purse a DD or continue on with his regular Magnus class?
Also I need level 7 Magnus badly because then I can get Arcane medium armor

I only went DD after level 7 Magus, because Medium Armor is really necessary to not be ultra-squishy for a frontliner, especially as Regongar doesnt have high DEX to really make use of Light Armor.

As I guessed.. it seems it is better to go DD after level 7, but the question do I keep going with DD all the way? I am afraid that am gonna hurt his damage output so badly

There's a magus buff you get that takes away the enemies dex ac bonus for one round for the magus only. Make sure you grab that.

4 level of dragon disciple is pretty much optimal, after 4 you lose more then you gain from this prestige class.

“ ignoring dex DC”
That’s good enough for me🙂

You don't need Prescient Attack if you use Shatter Defenses.

If you just stick with Magus he'll eventually be a beast if you give him the Crane Wing line. His Companion item gives him good saves and immunities and he'll be able to fight in Heavy Armor with a very long Mirror Image.

Dragon Disciple gives you some automatic bonuses to your attributes, which is pretty useful, since it allows you to focus your attention on beefing up Regongar's primary attributes, without diverting points into other areas.

Putting at least 4 points into DD will give you a +4 bonus to Strength, if you plan to make him a melee focused combatant. This is good, because you can focus on putting your attribute points into Dexterity instead, which is the Magus' primary fighting stat.

Investing all 10 levels into DD eventually gives you a +2 bonus to Intelligence, which grants you a crap load of new skill points to invest, but you miss out on the ability to wear Heavy Armor without spell failure penalty.

Though, since Magi are Dexterity based fighters, that might not be such a bad thing. Heavy Armor seems to carry some pretty big penalties to one's Dexerity when wearing it.

I am using Scimitar. It is not a dex based weapon bro 🙂

DEX determines to hit at range, STR in melee. It has nothing to do with class. Magi get unique abilities from staying single class. DD is fine but ultimately unnecessary since stats are so easy to get.

If you want a fun variant go Feyspeaker/MT once he goes CN and fight wildshaped.

But then why is Dex one of their primary attributes, instead of strength?

I know Magi use the Dual Wield feat, using their off hand to cast spells. But I'm not sure now if that's a Dex focused Feat or not?

You don’t need two-weapon fighting feats to use Spell Combat or Spellstrike.

Prereq for two-weapon fighting feats is 15, 17, 19.

I dont know what a Primary Attribute is.
