Freeze at loading screen

So I played last night first time, no problem.

Today, when I try to launch, it goes through the loading bar just fine with its usual 10-15 sec.

It transitions to a screen with just the game logo and music going, but stops there.
I have tried letting it run for a while, but nothing.
When it transitions to this logo screen, it also blacks out my second monitor screen.

Reboot and no improvement.

I cannot get to the Menu Screen (New game, load game, etc)

Game files have been verified successfully. I have even done a fresh download as well, no improvement.

I had the same problem and changing the option to borderless fixed it for me.

Anyone around to help answer this? Steam does not give us that long to fix a problem before we have to refund it back.

Still looking for suggestions. I really hope to be able to play this game again, but I cannot get past this loading issue to reach the menu screen.

You can try to change resolution if you can run the game in compatibility mod (Windows 7 works for some people).

Also, sometimes deleting registry key helps (\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Owlcat Games)

Okay, so the registry key reset worked. But the problem is the same issue happens every time I leave the game and reload it. Have to reset the registry keys again.

How do I stop this from being a continual problem?

Have you changed display mode to borderless window?

If you haven't gotten it figured out yet try launching the game with the play button. Immediately hold ALT key. You will see the icon flash in your taskbar. This will bring up a config file for the game where you can check windowed.

Alternately you can try adding launch option -windowed or -popupwindow through Steam Launch Options by RCgame/properties/launch options.

Yes, that is what shows when I bring up the graphics option. However, it is still full screen.

Will it launch from the .exe without using steam? You aren't using Steam Cloud are you?

No, just the normal steam program that I launch everything else from.
Never tried finding the folder and launching directly.

Okay, now the problem is getting worse. Removing the registry keys is no longer working every time. Please help.
