Introduction

This mini-plugin for Special K will improve image quality as well as adding all the bells and whistles that come with Special K.

Current Features:

• Option to disable first-person blur
• Option to disable Depth of Field
• Option to disable SSAO
  Since people won't shutup about this, I should point out it's a performance option rather than img. quality -- I'm trying to cover all bases here and give players options that the developers did not.

Download and Install

• 0. The Visual C++ 2017 runtime[aka.ms] is a required pre-req.

1. Grab this archive[github.com] from GitHub.
   
2. Extract it to your game's install directory (SteamApps\common\Yakuza 0\media)

Configuration

Press Ctrl + Shift + Backspace to open Special K's config menu, then focus on the options under the "Yakuza 0" heading.

Troubleshooting

If the mod does not work, third-party software (especially FRAPS!), anti-virus software or Windows 7 is usually to blame.

Windows 7 has a half-dozen optional updates that you need to install to use modern software such as mine; it's easier just to upgrade to Windows 10 :P

If after closing third-party software the game still does not start, please paste logs/dinput8.log, logs/modules.log and logs/game_output.log to pastebin.com and provide a link in a post.

Misc Notes

Texture mods with Special K are currently unsupported due to some truly bizarre memory management problems in this game's graphics engine.

The changes staging in 0.9.24.x are available in a separate branch[gitlab.com].

I went overboard with code refactoring and that stuff's not going in the master branch until I have time to validate (that's where you guys come in) software operation better :)

That's why there is no ReShade presets yet for Yakuza 0 B/c it literally has very bad compatibility issues. Hence why I keep telling ppl to not use it with this game.

The few ppl that got it working also caused SK OSD to stop working and it would crash randomly in the game. When he took it out it stopped all his random Crashes.

Won't even boot up with Reshade dll, of course .

You have to use Kaldaien's reshade solution.

Do you know how to get it to work? I followed his instructions from way eariler in this thread but I only get crashes

Yes... I'm sort of trying to rapidly finish this thing though :P

I don't expect to be adding features for very long, I was working on driver-level stuff prior to this little distraction and I need to get back to that work. I expect the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 0.9.24 release will be finished by Monday, complete with new hardware sensor drivers.

Would be nice if you also implement a proper ultrawide fix like with Automata. I tried using the wsgf fix with your work but it just keeps crashing. So all the fixes in one place would be amazing.

I know one guy who got it to work. But it required disabling Dinput8 and other things. Like Downgrading SK to very low version.

Hi i need help, i have put the file in the folder called Media, in the games files but when I try to open the program inside the game with Ctrl, shift and backspace nothing happens.

Hello Kaldaien, nice to you doing one of your mod for this game. But I've been having some issues since installing the SpecialK files for Yakuza 0. The game sometimes freezes when walking and it freezes the whole game screen. Also, the borderless window isn't working correctly, if I set the window mode as borderless in your GUI, it makes it so both Windowed mode and Borderless mode, don't have borders but if I do the opposite it makes its so both of them are windowed mode.
Is there a way to fix these problems? And / Or do you need me to show you any specific log files to help? (I've been checking them myself but the crash log file is empty and the other logs don't show anything that says anything about my problems, at least I haven't seen it)
