Yakuza 0
Crash at launch – 01 August 2018
Hi all,

Thank you for your feedback in this forum. Please rest assured we are monitoring your posts, and we greatly appreciate you posting in the issues thread and the community solutions you’ve suggested.

If, after verifying the integrity of your game files, you are still experiencing a crash at launch, may we ask that you please email your dxdialog and graphics.ini files to help@sega.com?

The graphics.ini file can be found in C:\Users\[%your user name%]\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0

For the audio issue some users are experiencing, please try the following solution as suggested by our community while we continue to investigate:

1. Navigate to " C:\Users\[%your user name%]\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0"
2. Open audio.ini
3. Change "AudioMode=0" to be "AudioMode=1"

Thank you for your patience as we iron out our launch wrinkles. We’ll have more information as we continue our investigation into the issues reported here.

Thanks,
SEGA Dev

Can you add an option to lock the framerate to 30 and 60? Some people (including me) would like to play with V-sync off but with the framerate locked.
The file C:\Users\[%your user name%]\AppData\Roaming\Sega\Yakuza0 is not created on my computer, i believe that is because the name of my user on Windows have letters out of the american default (âãôô, et cetera)
My problem was that my windows usarname had a "non-english" letter. Like é. After i created a windows account with normal English letters the game runs smoothly. But it's still a pain in the ass to make a whole new windows account just to play the game. I would like to see this fixed, so that i don't have to use another windows account where all my settings are different than from my main windows account.
The problem is that for some Windows users their "username" consists of different sets of symbols and digits, sometimes even in a foreign language, my friends from Russia write their user names in Cyrillic, they too face launch crashes, and the folder / sega in appdata is not created, because the game simply does not see these characters, I think it will help you to eliminate this unpleasant error as soon as possible, because of which one of my favorite series gets mud in the face due to an inadequate community that does not know how to wait.

Which could explain the crash if you're getting one. Not the 1st time I see a game stumble on that kind of issue.
NOTHING works. I verified and chaged the audiomode to 1; but still crashes at launch...

The username was "The Navand";even though ALL LETTERS IS ENGLISH; I changed it to "Navand", STILL crashes at launch...
From what I experienced crash at start happens when tweeking .ini files and for whatever reason using the steam option to show fps, the issue is fixed by executing 'vc_redist.x64.exe' and choosing fix, the exe is under 'Steam->steamapps->common->Yakuza 0->_CommonRedist->vcredist->2017' folder. It will prompt to restart, once you do the game starts properly but anytime you change any .ini options (and you need if you want to fix the audio crackling issues) you have to repeat this process.

Make a new local account and play with it.
Don't use spaces, or special characters.

thats true changed the .ini file and crashed again, verify files and worked..thanks for the tip!
The crashes at launch seem to be mostly related to one of 2 issues:

-redist needing to be installed

-Windows username has non-English characters in it, resulting in the file path to the config folder also having non-English characters in it. For some reason the game can't create the config files upon launch as a result, so it crashes.
