And berseria is actually much easier than zesteria for example, since party AI is really good and actually helpfull in combat. Its also pretty easy, you can bind whole combo on one button and make them for every situation.
Your problem might have been that you played on mouse / kb. Tales of games are actually the only jrpg i know that is impossible to play good on it. Controller is must have, because you need to press alot of buttons while constantly moving and holding block, you have to be a spider to do it good on keyboard.
If you like story based games, check out Legend of heroes games, they are one of the BEST story games across all genres, and im not even a fan of jrpgs. Cold steel is also pretty noob friendly, older games are kinda harder. They have a plot across 9 games, thats the only problem, because to understand the whole thing youll probably want to start from the very first game.
This!
You're welcome.
NiEr Automata
Y's series
Neptunia series(fun? Yes, good story? No, memorial characters? Definitely)
Night of azure
Aterlier series
Valkyrie Chronicles
Wait NiEr Automata was Jrpg??!!?!? ayyy lmao. I dont even notice that.
I'm serious, I just simply curious why would you think nier isn't jrpg, the ARPG is just a subgenres that can suit a ton of game regardless of where it came from
