There's also that novel "parting ways" but I heard it's awful. However, I think Kingsglaive and Brotherhood are great.
Thanks :D Now the problem is which one do I watch first.....
Main Game Chapter 1 > Kingsglaive > Brotherhood > Maingame End > DLC
DLC does hold spoiler, so avoid DLC until certain part of the game. But i would recommend playing DLC AFTER finishing the game. Doesnt hurt to do so and so that it doesnt interrupt the momentum of your story progression.
...because although I did an entire play-through on PS4 when it came out, I never felt attached to any of the characters during it. The game felt very cheesy to me, and unfinished. I then learned afterwards that the majority of the personality-establishing elements for the main characters happened prior to the game x.x
Will probably have to watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood to get myself hyped to play this again.
Or you could go the other route and play the game and watch them afterwards to fill in blanks/questions (whereas if you watch them beforehand, you don't even know if you, personally, will have questions, at that point).
:D
Brotherhood is a great but very short 5 episode anime series you can watch for free on Youtube. They have the links Pinned in a post here on the Steam FFXV Discussions. I highly recommend watching it. It is pretty much all flashbacks of the 4 main characters to give you history on how they came together. Brotherhood is actually really good. I wish they would make more of it.
As also mentioned previously, Brotherhood is a series of flashbacks. These focus on the main cast before the happenings of the game, however the scenes that take place in the 'present' may be considered slightly spoiler-ish if you haven't played a few minutes of Chapter 2. (There is a certain type of random encounter that is introduced in Ch2, I'm sure you'll know it when it happens) I also did my best to avoid spoilers so Brotherhood was my first introduction to these types of encounters.
All depends on how you define "spoilers."
