Why Does Regalia Type D (Monster Truck) Only Unlock After Chapter 8?

If you aren't aware, the original version of FF15 on consoles, with the latest patches, allow you to unlock the monster truck (type d) after you complete chapter 2. It took nearly the whole entire game for me to unlock the quest (where you collect four tires close to HammerHead, lvl 29) to unlock this car. Everyone on pc wanted to drive their car with full freedom, be able to drive offroad and perform jumps. :(

I'm on Chapter 3, and I'm at Hammerhead (the gas station you first encounter). Apparently I should be able to talk to Cindy and she'll insist on giving me an upgrade (unlock type d). I've initiated a side quest with her before I talked to her. Now whenever I talk to her, it just shows the usual dialog or she'll talk about the side quest.How do you unlock Regalia Type D? Do I need to complete all of her side quests, or do I need to advance the story more? I would love to drive offroad, the way this game is meant to be played!

Regalia Type D schould be availlable after the first Regalia repair at Cindy.
Very frustrating.

Square should patch the regalia type d quest so that newcomers can drive it after chapter 2.

Type D is available at Chapter 8, fully (coz only after chapt 8 can you access the Vesperpool area).

yeah this. As soon as you get the supercharger you can get the quest to acquire 4 heavy tires. So Chapter 8.

Oh really? I had no idea. That's still way too late imo, chapter 3 should be when the quest unlocks.

why is that too late? The longest main quest from chapter 3 to 8 is 6 and that mostly involves driving.

Also from a crhonological and tonal standpoint most side quests are probably happening after chapter 4 but before chapter 9. Theres only one quest thats missable between those chapters and it literally shoves it down your throat to do it so... skipping it would be weird. Besides the whole point of getting the supercharger is so you got FASTER, so you can quest faster if your not just fast traveling or cant fast travel.

You can actually START the questlines at Chapter 3. You just can't complete them all until Chapter 8. You have to complete all of Cindy's earlier requests before the blueprints appear.

Additionally if you don't have at least the supercharger, the Type-D will lack power/speed... its VERY noticable. I couldn't bear to use it until I got the Turbocharger as well.
