Difference between Vitality and HP

I assume the two are connected, but is it as simple as your HP are derived from Vitality, or is it more complicated?

Also when scanning an enemy, what is the final resistance the have after the three magic types?

That final resistance is light I believe.

Vitality is physical Defense.
Spirit is magic defense.

Light is a weapon dmg. type that works best on demonic type enemies.
