Xbox One Controller not functioning

Hey, I have an Xbox One controller and I can't seem to use it at all. I've loaded it up regular like through my PC and it didn't detect any input, then I used big picture mode to configure the controller and the same thing. What gives?

Have you selected your controller type in Steam in your preferences? Generally when I have that problem in a game I have to select my controller type and then it will work. Just google it and you should get some easy steps on how to fix the issue.

I also can't figure this one out? I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and really need a controller to work for this game! I just streamed for 8 hours this game and the whole time I was hoping it would start working but it didn't....

Ugh, don't enable the controller in Steam's controller settings. What that does is tell Steam that it can go and do whatever hell it wants with the controller, potentially screwing up unnecessarily much.

The game features native XInput support. You shouldn't need any form of third-party XInput related wrappers to get the Xbox One controller to work. I have the Microsoft Store version with a Xbox360 controller and the game dont works with my controller, but my friend can play with Xbox360 controller without do nothing xd

Have you updated the firmware of your controller in the Xbox Accessories app on the Microsoft Store? Might be a firmware issue.

unassociating the controller via bluetooth and reassociating it appears to have fixed it.
