Fishing not working at all
Hey peeps,

so I just started playing, but I reached the point where you can fish for the first time and it seems that it isn't working at all. I researched it a bit and watched videos of other people fishing, and there is this red line across the screen that indicates your sucess (I believe?), but that red line is not present for me at all and no fish is biting. Anyone any tips on what might cause this issue?

Look at the map, cast when your circle glows yellow when it is over a dot (fish), then you will get a red line when a fish is attracted.

Of course, you need to check the sign which tells you what type of fish is found at that fishing spot and use an appropriate bait for that to happen.

Yeah, I did all that before...like I said, I looked up how it's supposed to work...the red line doesn't come anyway.

You need to throw right on a fish (use the radar) and irregularly pull the ligne while also irregularly move left and right.

Try changing the lure accordingly with the species present at the current spot (species might be indicated on a nearby sign).

Like I said: I checked how it's SUPPOSED to work, with the radar and the cursor changing color. I can even see the fish in the water, but neither does the red success line appear (at all, no matter the lure, rod etc), nor do the fish react to the lure in ANY way. It's not that I don't find them, or don't know how to reel them in, but it seems that the mechanical gameplay system behind it is not working?

Sorry, just wanted to check with you that all conditions were met.

Consider launching a new game just to check if it's still broken (get to Galdin as soon as you can and try).

The red line isn't a "success" line, it just indicates a fish is eyeing your line/intrigued and you have to move it/reel to keep the fish interested so it'll maybe bite. If the fish stays interested the line gets longer/fatter until it bites (or loses interest). I know, that's semantics, just nitpicking. :D

Seeing fish in the water itself while in fishing mode *before* actually hooking a fish isn't really something that occurs every time. Sometimes, sometimes not, depends on the fishing hole/water. At least in my experience. Although Galadin you often can because the water is so "clear."

If no blue/yellow dots are appearing in the *radar* at all, then something is borked. The advice to restart just to check if it's the save or the game is good. You can also try Steam's verify files check thing, to make sure some simple file missing during install didn't occur or something.
