Why would the dev change the things that are clearly replicating the original? No one would start there unless remaining faithful to the og design.
No one is playing this it's Sonic 06 though I would love to be no one if someone fixes it, I really wanted to like 06. Maybe the Generations versions will nail it I'm not up to it yet.
Most of these get abandoned but Sonic 06, FOUR different ways to play on PC. It's hilarious
When I say you can learn it, I'm referring to P-06, not the original 06. Which one are you referring to here?
The whole point of the remake is to remake Sonic 06, but better. He said on his Twitter that this project is both for him and people who want Sonic 06 to be good. So yeah, it's going to use a lot of the same assets, assets that the dev has complete control over and can tweak to create a better overall experience.
People are playing this dude, ChaosX is getting more followers on Twitter daily, and when I joined a Sonic discord and went into the fangames section, a level mod for P-06 was one of the first things I saw. It's a fangame, it's obviously going to be an underground project that most people aren't aware of for the most part. But the majority of people who are aware of it are very happy with it and see great potential since ChaosX has plans to fully complete it at some point.
As for the Generations mod, it doesn't really warrant comparisons to P-06 since they are doing radically different things.
He's doing a poor job then. That or it's so unfinished he has nowhere else to go with it. Why not remove the stalling from the outset I wonder.
Yeah that's nobody. It's excellent this thing has a following though I love it.
Someone needs to take up Advance on Mania or Ep II. The SA2 conversion out there is awful. Something like A.I.R. would be stellar.
It's the same core gameplay except they finished it. New art over it would probably be easier, but I get the point. For me just get the stages on a half way complete platform. I've been looking at this pos for 15 years now.
Yeah, but that's not the gameplay style 06 was meant to be. P-06 aims to take the gameplay and polish it. I'm getting tired.
100% agreed and in my opinion, Sonic could be about anything. The game doesn't, I repeat, DOESN'T have to always be about speed or momentum-based platforming, as much as people scream to the heavens it does. For a long while now, I've wanted a great Sonic RPG or a great Sonic Fighting game. Heck, even an open-world Sonic game like Spider-Man for PS4 where you run around Mobius, beating up outlaws like Fang The Sniper or destroying Robotnik robots, using your speed to beat them up and maybe change characters to use Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, each with their own abilities. It would be awesome. Alas though, it probably won't be a thing and Sega's next big game will probably be another Boost game... or Mania 2.... ugh...
Hopefully, I'm wrong, but I doubt they'll ever do another Adventure-Style, Heroes-Style, Fighters-Style, or Brotherhood-Style game for a long while. Maybe even never sadly.
Anyway, sorry about that OP, I think I went off-topic to your question. I am excited to see the next update for the '06 project though, maybe eventually it'll be the full game and I can actually complete '06 for once.
That would actually be really cool! Imagine if SEGA and Sonic Team put in all of their best efforts to truly deliver on an actual open world Sonic game that gave us the freedom to go wherever we want at high speeds - surely, we have the technology to be able to do that now.
There's also one major difference between 06 and Unleashed - 06 is more about exploration and open ended level design, while Unleashed is about quick reflexes and on the spot decision making, the latter of which I feel was lost in all of the boost games afterwards.
Especially as Generations toned down Sonic's running speed in general whereas it was Sonic P-06 mach speed levels in World Adventure, which is what the boost games should have kept. I only didn't finish World Adventure because of the sun and moon coin hunting (I habitually call the medals coins, same as 2006). I hope that the 2006 remake keeps the exploration aspect in places but improves the adventure fields to be less empty and have more stuff to do, like World Adventure and SA1 DC crossed with a Hat in Time & Mario Sunshine.
Does anyone know where I can get a compiled version of Legacy of Solaris? I wan't to actually finish this thing fifteen years later
