Where are all the humans?

Since Sonic Forces has Shadow, Rouge and Omega one can suggest that they happen after Sonic Adventure 1/2. There were quite a few humans in those games. But not a single human is shown in Sonic Forces.

Had Eggman executed them all or something? Is it ever explained?

Maybe hiding because they are not as strong as the animals? Only idea I have.

They do not exist here, i do believe and this is just a hunch, the Phantom Rubies powers are alot more powerful then the team lets on. From what i saw this thing can WARP reality around it, and i suspect sonic team wanted to use it to sort of soft reboot sonic, and so will perhaps use the ruby as an excuse to subtly remove all mention of humans from the series. But it's just a guess....

Oh wait, I just remembered there are humans. Dr. Eggman is a human.

Unless you believe he's Robo-Robotnik Mark II from the comics. Which are not canon to the games, but still.

Aggh, it's been touched by the same thing that happened in the comic. I hated when everything that happened in the comic didn't happen thanks to the Super Genesis Wave.

If it did warp reality though, I wonder how Shadow was created then since he was created by Dr. Gerald Robotnik, also a human and let's not forget Shadow's friend Maria...

Maybe it's like Sonic X and all the humans are on a different world, and this is Mobius or something else. Or they just all fled to Central City, Spagonia or Apotos or something. The Sonic Game lore is a big jumbled mess.

given anthro characters were non-existent outside of named characters up until this point, it is a gigantic plot hole.

The other shows had generic anthros as well, And then theres the question to where sonic and his named friends all came from. The comics tried to solve that.

I bet it's a different world, just like Blaze is from another one, Sonic X made it believe so, and Sonic X was the only cartoon supervised by the original Sonic Team. And there are different planets you can reach by plane...
