Finding ECM
So, Ravens are fine and dandy and all that, but i have certain... projects... in mind, that require a stand-alone ECM suite, and i for the life of me can't salvage or find any for sale. Can anybody point me to a system(or two) store that can be more or less reliably farmed for such a thing?
I currently circle around any "Research" and "Electronics" systems i find, but so far no luck

I can tell you they are rare - I saw one and only one ... for sale in the market in 166 hours of game play.

Hope you find one soon!

I don‘t know That too. In there such ECM‘s and you can‘t find them on Research, Production and Other such Planets, Theo there is a Last Chance: the Black Market!

If there isn‘t anything Go find only the Flashpoint Missions are your Last Hope.

You can't get it from salvage even if you encounter the vehicle that mounts it. Just filter your map for research and keep hitting up those stores. Don't bother with electronics.

Edit: Don't eyeball the tags. Use the filter.

They are not available on the black market. Maybe try Liao systems with research.

there are exactly 2 planets that have a fair chance of having one:

New Vandenburg (Taurian) and Victoria (Capellan)

pretty sure those are the only 2 places that have advanced SLDF equipment for sale.

you will also have decent chances to find things like gauss++ there too.

I found one the very first time I visited New Van on day 2. have not seen one since.

it works excactly like the one for the raven, but does not include the multisensor lock ability. in fact, it is exclusionary of that tech. there is another device that has it, and you can't mix them. only a raven can have both.

It weighs 6 tons and takes 4 slots. will set you back a cool 5.5 mill, base. I sold everything I had at the time to buy it.

in the end?

meh. it's not worth it. the AI knows how to use sensor locks now.

Just a heads up the shopdefs are completely obsolete now. Everything was moved into the item collections.

Update! As both Liao and Taurians absolutely hate my guts, i had to muck about the periphery for an unreasonable amount of time, but eventually managed to find an ECM suite on Lyreton. The advice to concentrate on Research-tag systems was a good one, thanks. (In fact, it would seem that ECM suites look like they're "exlusive" to Liao simply because Liao space has the absolute most Research-tag systems in it).

My project is now complete... but you will have to sensor lock my screenshot library to find out what it was :)

it's been that way since 1.3

you still define what is carried in shops by including the appropriate item collections though.

Yeah and New Vandenburg and Victoria are Research (Adv) but not Research.

Edit: To clarify the Research Progression or Research (ADV) as it's displayed in-game doesn't have ECM in the item collection. Similar situation to Starleague ADV not having DHS in the collection.
