Nope,Mech Commander 1 and 2 are Real Time Strategy (RTS) games.
Battletech is a Turn Based Strategy (TBS) game.
The format of playing is different.
Yes I would love a new Mech Commander and would back it like I did Battletech but there is no mention of a new game in development. Yet.
Hope yer right, I still play that game from time to time as its more enjoyable than some of the newer games out there :P
i am still waiting for a new mechcommander :) i also started playing darkest hours ... its really nice but a new MC3 like in the video would be awesome
MC2 on new PC's - http://www.nogutsnogalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=4829.0
"The senior readership probably remembers the American developer MicroProse, who at the turn of the 80s and 90s produced some of the most popular simulators and strategies. We are talking about Sid Meier's Civilization, Sid Meier’s Pirates !, XCOM and Railroad Tycoon.
Great news, it seems that MicroProse has revived and is preparing to release new games. The company was acquired by David Lagetti, the creator of the software platform for modeling open worlds - TitanIM, who participated in the creation of military simulations. In an interview with PC Pilot magazine, Laghetti said he wants to get back to basics and produce high-quality strategies and simulations that MicroProse was once known for. Some of them will be announced at the end of this year, and the first game, Warbirds 2020, will appear at the end of 2019 or in the first quarter of 2020. It is also worth knowing that Laghetti persuaded the previous owner of the company, Bill Styles, who worked on Sid Meyer's projects.
In the official twitter of the company, the first images from new projects began to appear.".
Do they still own those IPs or will they have to rebuild their catalogue? As history has taught us you should not believe in "Hope and Change" just because you like the look of the guy standing in of front you. You should wait and see what he does before you roll out the praise or criticism.
And they love the table top too much to create another one of those monstrosities that threw out half the lore and rules... To the point it was more akin to the genesis battletech game than anything like the table top
