This is a Bug or suppose to happen?

Hello. This is my first time playing the game and this got me...

I just started a playthrough and creating a character with 1 health point, but the moment I suffer 1 damage by turning on the light or try to grab the tie and fail it seems instead to get me to a "death screen" (tried to watch what happens if the 0 hp goes to zero on youtube), everything turns black but the character, if I open a menu, he disappear as well.
Just asking to see if is a bug that I can do something about it, but if I keep a save for anything before suffering damage, I can play fine.

It's a fairly recent, known bug. I'm not sure if there's any work around or known cause yet. Only solution that ik of is to just turn the game off/on and reload a save.

Same here. Tested after watching "disco elysium fastest death" on Youtube. That video shows Death in Newspaper following trying to reach for tie, I follow this via New Game, my screen slowly turns black, then can't progress, no Newpaper... just consigned to darkness for all eternity after suffering a fatal heart attack!

The OP isn´t complaining about dying, the complaint is about the screen going black and ironically "not dying."

Except no one is dying. The screen fades to black but people can still move around but that's it.

From what I've seen, it's also happening to people who have more than one health point, but get knocked down to 1. So yeah. It's a bug.
