How high should i level up my Encyclopedia and Conceptualization skills?

I've heard that leveling up these skills is a great way to make a lot of XP through the game, i have both at 7 but i don't know when to stop

please don't play the game like you would other RPGs, optimizing your way through a glorified book will not be a good experience.
that being said, 7 is already good enough for what you want, it will land you all passive checks with difficulty challenging or lower, and most passive checks are medium difficulty. now all you have to do is learn about the wompty dompty dom dom center (this will give you EXP for encyclopedia passives) and become a certified art cop (this will give you EXP for conceptualization passives)

There are diminishing returns when leveling up skills in DE. There's almost always a chance of failing (or passing) a check regardless of skill level. Pick the skills that seem most interesting to you rather than what seems useful.

If you're trying to get as much XP as you can though, the "Mazovian Socioeconomics" thought gives XP every time you say something communist. "Jamais Vu (Derealization)" also gives XP when you click those little orbs that float around the detective's head.
