Why is the skill called "Electrochemistry"?

So I'm no native English speaker, and failed to link the word "electrochemistry" with dependence of drug and alcohol.
While looking this up, google would only retrieve some hardcore science essays or reddit posts about the skill being funny and not helpful and stuff.
Any clues?

It's just a jokey way of referring to neurochemistry and the electrical signals in the brain, as part of your brain's knowledge of pleasure, drugs, sex, and what it deems 'cool'. The detective's brain thinks 'electrochemistry' sounds cool.

Real-life electrochemistry is the study of electricity in chemical reactions and so on, electrolysis, batteries, etc. The detective may or may not know/remember this.
