You would be surprised to know the amount of games you already bought (or will buy) in which the creators don't see a dime no more. One good example, judging by your previous reviews, is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines as their creators (Troika Games) went defunct before the game started to being selled.
That said yeah Steam just offers features you can't get with piracy, sadly. If I ever get this game, it'll probably be off of a key reseller.
Creators (the two main ones) are still making money, at least some of them, they still own between 10% and 20% each, but just not the majority of the studio
Nah, you just increased the consumer surplus at the expense of the producer surplus, this is actually fine in capitalism. Sorry to burst your bubble :(
Well, I bought it for like 2$, so... And also, i am the *Baddest Hustler In The Neoliberal Hood*, soooooooo...
the concept creator/writer and his partner,
who was credited as head writer on final cut (even though multiple people who had to do the actual work on it can't think of a line of contribution).
most of "the people who made it" kept on making it after the two left.
and still work at the company.
not defending the company. they definitely had interpersonal motives for what they did.
even if they thought they were saving the project, they sacrificed the mental state of someone they knew was already showing cracks from a period of crunch.
someone who was supposedly an old friend. the name of the company reflects it.
Only for some scumbags to come in and swindle it from the company they built.
